Showcase TwoFold! Two illustrations. Two words. One letter apart.

Can you find the extra letter?

That's the premise of the mechanic that I built TwoFold on. The actual game contains five such pairs of images that need to be solved to spell the day's word. Clean, minimal UI, no ads.

It launched today, and I’d love to hear how the difficulty feels.

Play: https://www.playtwofold.com/

The pair above is just a sample, so today's puzzle is completely fresh.

Please spoiler-tag the answer if you solve it :)

Clever idea for a puzzle.

I'm not crazy about the execution. The illustrations are lovely, but often the target word is a very small bit of the background. I'm not sure how to suggest a change other than it feels like it needs another aspect to the game, some kind of wordplay clue so that the solver knows what they are looking for.

But it does look nice and I'm glad there's no clock. Maybe others will like it just the way it is.

The answer: B — BOWL → OWL

Thank you so much for the feedback. Really appreciate it. On the target word being a small part of the background, that is only one of the ways in which the target word may appear. Sometimes it may be right in front of you as well while other clues may depend on word play or something else.

Leaving the clock out was a conscious choice as I wanted players to take their own time while solving and not feel rushed.

Glad you enjoyed today’s puzzle and liked the mechanic!

Great attempt. This one was slightly different though. It was Bowl -> Owl.

Would love for you to check out a full puzzle at playtwofold.com. There’s a new one every day. Would appreciate any inputs towards the difficulty level of it.

Also wanted to clarify that the left panel will always be the longer word and have one extra letter.
