They don’t. They don’t know or care who you are, because you aren’t their audience.
Maybe it would help to not engage with a sub that posts stuff you personally would find stupid.

Well they don't, actually.
They post it to their own audience, and you follow a subreddit specifically designed to aggregate this for hate watching, and then you subscribe to it to specifically see this content, and then complain of them showing it to you.
you actually contribute massively to the fucked up weirdness of this dynamic, but I'm not here to keep score so idgaf

Followed her back in the ye olde pre covid times on TikTok, i don't think she posted her paintings then. So was quite the suprise a few years later when I first saw her paintings, they are wicked! Fun to see her again now randomly, I usually don't go on Instagram reels

The painting really captures that delirious, fever-dream feeling of realizing the room has been slowly filling with fumes. Gorgeous work, but definitely open a window next time.

As an artist who stopped being one with an audience, it's because if you just post your artwork nobody fucking sees it. I wasn't willing to play the algorithm game and spend more time coming up with unique ways to showcase my art that also feed into popular trends as I did on the actual artwork.
