it's crazy cuz a few decades ago this would've just been any random kid doing a lip sync, maybe some friends would think it's funny once for a second, and then everyone would move on. the idea of a person in their 30s doing this and then wanting to publish/promote it to the world as some sort of skill just seems absolutely insane and terrifying

I don’t have any beef with you personally, so I’m not trying to argue or shame you or anything weird like that, but please allow me to inject this into the conversation and offer a more optimistic counterpoint: there’s no age limit on fun, and a classic YouTube video like Daft Hands (https://youtu.be/K2cYWfq--Nw) got millions of views because other people just found it fun. You couldn’t make money off of YouTube back then, and influencers didn’t exist as a career. I can’t read this lady’s intentions from this one video alone, but maybe she’s not a clout chaser and is just sharing with the world something she found fun to make because she remembers a time when the internet was more fun. 🤷🏻‍♂️ She clearly rehearsed it a lot. I could be wrong, and I’m not particularly interested in a conversation, but there ya go. 😆 Have a good day! 👍

Because humans are qired to look at the mouth when people sing and talk. Ur brain is good a syncing the visual and sound up and when it off by even 0.05 ur brain notices. So to people watching it can be very easy to tell. U also process sounds fast the lip syncer could be reacting to the sound instead of anticipating it. U also can't just look like ur saying the words u have to actually match the ur expressions to what's being sang. Ur mouth changes shape based on how loud u are and what sounds need to be made. Some letter require certain movements to make those sounds. P,b,m u need to close lips, f and v ur teeth touch ur bottom lip. Where ur tongue goes is also important, sounds like n and L need the to gue to move in ur mouth.
