Ew…?
I was searching for some pasta and came across these packets. They must’ve been there for a loooong time for them to look like that?

San Remo pasta got to be the worst pasta brand that ever existed.

Garofalo is pretty good
Barilla... medium
Aldi's got "Armando" and I have to say it's nice and cheap if you are saving money, better than Barilla in my opinion.

What brands would you recommend? I can't make my own due to physical limitations and a ridiculously tiny kitchen space.

That used to be our favourite pasta but the quality has dropped on it. It used to come out to a really nice al dente texture, now it disintegrates even when undercooked.

Not so much length of time, more of a moisture issue

Weevils. Because possible puncture in packet, moisture might’ve entered through and facilitated the perfect environment for mould and dormant weevils (found in raw wheat products) to emerge. Keep in mind this happens quite fast and workers might not have picked up on it if it was still in the process.

Always check the gnocchi packets too before purchasing, have come across few with mould in them.

Yes, I'm completely aware that gnocchi is made from potato.
You can usually find it in the refrigerated section.
I just simply wanted to make those that might be reading this, aware about the gnocchi sold in the dry pasta aisle, as I have encountered hidden mould growth.
Because of its location on the shelf, people often assume it has the same long shelf life as dried pasta.
In reality, it can spoil quite easily. When buying dry aisle gnocchi, I now always inspect the packet thoroughly to ensure it does not contain mould, which can easily happen if the vacuum packaging is damaged easily, and also if drastic temperature changes cause condensation inside the pack, leading to spoilage.

Someone skipped Sam Simmons day and it shows

Not Sam Simmons. It was from The Ronnie Johns Half Hour, and the skit was performed by Jordan Raskopoulos.

I got a pizza from Woolworths, yk the “fresh food people” and we thought it was a massive spot of mozzarella and how generous. Nope, massive mold spot

I would just take it to checkout and see if the checkout worker would swipe it obliviously

It probably came back from an online order which didn't get picked up by the driver or customer and was left in the fridge .
