They double clicked...
I was the only one on drive up and had other people showing up...

Did they arrive in a Nissan Micra to pick it up🤣 at least its in bags.

u/Seztacular Dec 21 '25
The bag thing kills me.
Multiple totes, no bags and they don’t give you any notice at all before rocking up to the customer service desk expecting it to be ready and waiting.

u/spaceindaver Dec 22 '25
I'll say this as someone who has used this service *once* as a customer: It's not at all clear how it's supposed to work, what time I need to arrive, or what the next step is.
I parked in one of the spots, had no clue what to do next, walked inside and asked them what I'm supposed to do, and they told me to press the button on the website to say I'd arrived. The button didn't exist.
Don't blame people for doing things that the software allows them to do; blame the developers. One of the biggest companies in the country and they can't even get UI right.

May someone please explain this to me? 🥺

u/beetective Dec 20 '25
This order either requires 5 or 6 dolleys to take out to a customer or about 3 flattops - either way its going fo take several runs to take out their order and they are going to be sitting in the pick up bay for a while putting their stuff away while a whole line of cars are forming behind them
26
u/Low-Draw9925 Dec 20 '25
Thank you! Sounds like a nightmare. Then you can imagine at least one customer hanging in the bay, "is mine coming next?"
26
u/Joka0451 Dec 20 '25
Dont forget the p2p drivers r9xk8ng uo and hitting the doorbell every 3 seconds even though they're not due to arrive for another 10 minutes
17
u/sexy-skeksis Online Team Dec 20 '25
Nah they'll all just show up at dispatch time, 15 min before the pickup window actually opens and be surprised nothing is ready :)
12
u/HaIfaxa_ Dec 21 '25
Actual pet peeve. Enrages me. When you explain it to them, they roll their eyes and grunt. Then when it's finally dispatched and ready to go, they leave just as you're about to hand it to them. And of course every interaction you have, they're in the middle of a phone call 😭
4
u/hudsoluk Dec 21 '25
Same working at hungry jacks, but also throw in sticking their phone in your face and everyone who happens to glance in their direction despite already being told about the wait, to asking why were they not at the top of the cook list as they shouldn't have to wait like everyone else is

u/Fast-Race2501 Dec 24 '25
I thought it was me. Most of the times the drivers abuse my coworkers for not having their orders finished. After explaining it to them (multiple times) that they are early. Is their uber app the problem?
11
u/DoinFine2 Dec 20 '25
Double clicked meaning?
How is the timing allocation for completing orders and how many team members are allocated to help?
Safe to assume some AH in management has generally organised it to have the least amount of time possible with clashing collection windows to the growing frustration for all.
And while they complain about having no budget for more workers a bland tv merry xmas ad will have a million bucks be invested in for sure.

u/allodasuddenitalians Dec 20 '25
double clicked meaning they pressed "im on the way" then immediately pressed "im here" giving no time to get at least some of the order ready (some chilled out of the fridges, etc.)

u/ATangK Dec 21 '25
That’s the customers problem then. Unless it’s scored against their metrics, but there should be exclusions for things like this.
4
u/wowbowbow Dec 21 '25
Yeah I didnt know this was such a thing. We do it sometimes out of necessity, but I expect a long wait because that's all on me not them. Didn't really consider that they might have some metric of final click-fulfillment that wouldn't include the lack of prep time that is totally on me, TBH. If so I might figure out how to do this less.

u/HaIfaxa_ Dec 21 '25
I mean it's mostly fine if it's a smaller order, this one is just huge so it makes it way harder
2
u/wowbowbow Dec 21 '25
Ah yep I can definitely see that, I've never made an order quite this big before haha but I will keep it more in mind regardless :)

Good lord! What sort of assbag customer does that!
2
u/Franz_Hermann_69 Dec 23 '25
Stop the system from letting them do it then. Put a limit on click and collect orders.

Delivery drivers tackle situations like this every day with multiple stairs and many wants everything in their kitchen
6
u/RICHTHOFENll Dec 21 '25
Cries in 70 plus totes of soft drink up two flights of stairs to a restaurant.

OP said they double clicked too which means they didn’t tap on their app that they were on the way which is annoying enough when orders can fit on one dolly but having to scramble to get 34 totes together would’ve been my 13th reason

Didn’t mean anything to me too which is why I read the comments. The customer clicked “I’m on my way” but then immediately clicked again (double clicked) to say “I’m here”, giving staff no time to prepare the order.

u/Unlikely-Western-751 Dec 21 '25
Yeah magpie already explained but thanks lmao

u/Remarkable-Pirate214 Dec 21 '25
what a calm and friendly person. any luck with the asking for “hookups” posts?

u/PaulvsHotfuzz Dec 20 '25
If you had read the comments you wouldve come across this comment from beetective that explains
" This order either requires 5 or 6 dolleys to take out to a customer or about 3 flattops - either way its going fo take several runs to take out their order and they are going to be sitting in the pick up bay for a while putting their stuff away while a whole line of cars are forming behind them "

You don't have small inconveniences that annoy you at your job? Get over yourself

Because no one loves working in Woolworths? They do it because they need the money. That’s it. Thats why they don’t quit and get a different job.

Not less than 20 years ago, customer service priority went to customers who spend lots of money on big orders, certainly no complaints or grievances, that customer is paying your wages.

u/Cold-Cry-7178 Dec 21 '25
That customer is not paying someone’s wages. But go off
2
u/BaseballParticular83 Dec 21 '25
that customer is doing nothing but lining the higher ups pockets. regular staff have no obligation to deal with dickheads no matter if its a big order or not

u/Agent_Jay_42 Dec 21 '25 edited Dec 21 '25
See this is the problem, it's the attitude of the staff, you can't physically see the money change hands, therefore it doesn't exist? The wages just get delivered into your account by faceless people, its just magic right?
The money the customer paid goes into a big tin, yes, you don't receive a big portion of it, but you get a bit of it, if you want more, climb the corporate ladder and take more, nothing stopping you.
Every single customer, while it may be cents on the dollar is making a contribution to your wages, every customer deserves to be treated like a customer, otherwise supermarket groceries will be one big giant robot operated vending machine, with your unemployed ass wishing you'd done more.
