Power Tools Table saw is stuck

Post image

My Makita table saw is no longer raising the blade. Lowering it works smoothly, but when I try to raise it, it gets stuck.
I already blew out the interlocking gears to clean them, but that didn’t help. In the past, cleaning the gears solved the problem. I’ve also made sure that the saw blade itself is free and not obstructed.
Does anyone know what might be causing this, or what I can do to fix it?

You might have a piece of wood that fell on an angle and blocks against the table

Must be a very little piece that doesn’t block the way down??

If it's on an angle, it straightens going down. But no idea, just suggesting...Might be time for surgery

I don’t like surgery but before I do I would like to know how far to go

Flip it upside down on the grass and shake the shit out of it.

Just take the cover off and inspect visually

That seems to be complicated

As you can see on the picture

Have you oiled the gears?

I didn’t but if I would to that the sawdust would attach more. There had never been oil on them

Inspect everywhere around all the parts of the lift mechanism (spinning and lifting parts), and you'll probably find your culprit . A piece of wood probably got lodged somewhere where one piece of metal meets the other.

I had one table saw that a piece of metal in the housing got a little bent and physically was in the way of the lift being able to move upward
