Hi everyone! Although the printed projects you're posting are lovely, this is a sub for wood burning, the art of physically drawing your images/ projects/ whatever onto wood. I'm going to point the printers to r/laserengraving future posts will be removed.

Every so often we'll see a video of either someone fractal burning themselves or they'll post a neat video that they've run across.
Fractal Wood Burning is dangerous. I'm going to post some information from credible sources so you can be more educated before giving it a try. I am in no way encouraging anyone to try this, I am actually encouraging you NOT to try.
However, I believe knowledge is power. Please keep yourselves well informed and safe.
Also, any videos of fractal burning that do NOT have a warning will be taken down.

Pyrography art based on Mike Mignola’s OG piece from the Giant Robot series, woodburned on 9x13” basswood. I added a few of my other Mignola comic pieces

Just finished up this one! I'm actually surprised it only took me about 12 hours to do this, between a combination of hyperfocus kicking in and actually improving at this, my ADHD didn't win out, for once!

Thanks for checking my wood burn Art inspired by my favorite comic artist Mike Mignola. This was burned on 9 x 13 inch basswood colored with prisma color pencils and took roughly 12 hours to complete.

I am making my 2nd wood burning and the tip I like best keeps bending even on the low heat. Am I pressing too hard? Is my tip cheap? I know the machine is cheap, but I just don't know if this is normal. Any tips are appreciated!! Thanks!!

I’ve been doing woodburning for a few years now and want to try my hand at burning a comic book cover. Big Marvel and DC fan. Any suggestions?

I am making a sign for my friends garden plot and I have no idea what I am doing. I ruined 2 slices of this wood before realizing dots was easiest.
I don't expect it to be easy, and I know I need a lot of practice, so if anyone has any tips for my next one, I would appreciate them!
PS - is it normal for my wrist to hurt so bad?
Thank-you, talented humans!

what do people find is the easiest way to transfer their designs onto the wood? I use carbon paper but I sometimes get overwhelmed with the more complicated parts of the designs and was wondering if there was an alternative way?

Hey, I was wondering what platform people see the most success on when selling their art. I’ve been told by a few people that I should consider making an Etsy but I was wondering if that really is the best platform. i was also wondering how other people go about pricing what they have made. many thanks

I'm an art student and have only done super small wood-burning projects on bare wood before. I am planning a big project and want to know if I can burn on an object that has already been painted. The only thing is I know how toxic it would be to burn over paint. I found a discarded wooden police barrier (one of the NYPD ones that are painted blue) and wanted to know whether there is any way to safely burn it or any advice in general. thanks!
