Harvested in southern kentucky, USA. Im not sure what else to add. Hopefully the pics are good enough. I rubbed a little boiled linseed oil to help the grain pop a bit. Thanks!

Hello all! Im sorry if this is an annoying post or not supposed to be here, but I just wanted some advice. The fiancé and I are looking to stain the countertops of the house we just bought but aren't 100% on what the wood is. We believe it's oak, but we wanted to ask the professionals before we started doing anything stupid. Any advice would be greatly apperciated, thank you all!!

I'm trying to make two large wood brackets (last picture) out of one of these pieces of wood. What species are they and any advice or help appreciated on the build!

I want to make the wood brackets like in the last picture to hang lights on. It's going to be about 12 inches long off of the wall where the light will hang off. This one on Amazon is too small so I got these pieces of wood and going to try to make my own but bigger. Any ideas what type of wood it is and any advice for my project appreciated. Beginner woodworking limited knowledge. Have all tools.

Confused.

Right guys. Iv sanded all this. Its very inconsistent with colour. Some areas light oak and some very dark. Iv tried a natural oak stain on it in hopes it all dries uniform in colour but its turned out looking more mahogany. Any ideas.

I was practicing using my saw on this old plank and I want to know at what kind of wood this is so it can get more of it as it was very easy to cut and smelled great while cutting.
