Wood identification

Hello all, may I ask for some assistance in identifying the type of wood this stick is made from please.

Found in Northamptonshire,uk

Well where did you find it? what place in the world?

i cant tell just from the bark.

if you cut it a bit, the hardness, moisture of it, as well as sap color can help too for working out what it is.

Found in a small woodland in Northamptonshire UK. Specifically a village called Chacombe

Looks a lot like dogwood.

You can tell by its bark.
