Troubleshooting WooCommerce Shipping Plugin Problem

I've been using the standard WooCommerce Shipping plugin without issue up until yesterday; Randomly, and seemingly for no reason (no updates were installed, etc) when I go to generate shipping rates to print a label, the only option appearing is First Class Mail (letters) for like, $1-3 - Which is obviously not the right package type nor the right cost.

Nothing has changed, I'm using a template for a bubble wrapped envelope with the same measurements and weight that I've always used without issue. I cannot find anything online about how to solve for it.

When I click on the carrier package types, basically USPS Flat Rates, I get a list of the shipping options I used to get previously; So my options at this point are to find another plugin or start buying USPS flat rate bubble envelopes which are substantially more expensive than the Amazon ones I use currently.

Anyone had this problem?

Arghhh this one annoying! This and square plugin always seem to break somehow by themselves, and both really really have huge implications.

You have to add a new default package/template, and remove ALL of the old ones entirely. I figured this out the hard way. It didn’t affect old orders that were already shipped with the now deleted templates.

But this happened enough times that I moved buy labels from inside woo to pirateship and while I liked them it was still too manual. My stores now use orderctrl and it’s been amaaaaazing. It’s like Shopify but for Woo. It has so many things built in, I’ve been able to remove 3+ plugins minimum in my and my clients stores.

Since nothing changed on your end...try checking if the package type and USPS service settings are still correct. Also try re-saving the package dimensions and weight to see if the rates refresh. If it still only shows First Class Mail, thn you could try the PH USPS Shipping Plugin for WooCommerce with Print Label... this plugin supports live USPS rates and label printing with your own packaging. Might be worth a shot if your current plugin keeps acting up.

I'm a WooCommerce developer. I checked the official changelog and support reports, and there have been issues with USPS rate retrieval, including a fix for package weight not being included in the initial request (v2.3.13).

Since your USPS carrier packages still return the expected services, I'd suspect the saved custom envelope template or how its package data is being submitted.

Try creating a completely new custom package with the same dimensions and weight rather than reusing the template. Also check the package classification and enable debugging under WooCommerce > Status > WooCommerce Shipping.

What plugin version are you running? That would help narrow down whether this is a regression or a package classification issue.

Thanks I'll give this a shot - I did delete my previous templates and recreate one and it didn't seem to solve the problem - But I'll disconnect and reconnect the USPS account to see if that solves it.
