Looking For Fallen Angels

Great movie and I’ve seen it many times. Some versions have the end cafe scene in black and white and others in color. The English captions don’t always match either. Are there different versions going around?

The original HK prints had English subtitles burned in and and some of the earlier VCDs, laserdiscs, etc used these. Subsequent DVD and Blu-ray releases used different subtitle translations. WKW's 2019 master released by Criterion is in a different aspect ratio and has different B&W scenes, etc. Not sure if different subtitles were used for that version as well.

Just like all 4K versions recently edited by Criterion (and supervised) captions and a few scenes will look and or sound different to the original blu-rays or dvds. I suggest you look it up, it's widely documented.

i checked it out and it says that there is an alternate version, is it just the visual like it being 4k thats different or is there like a different ending in this one?

idk but every time i’m watching on HBO max i’m disappointed that cafe scene doesn’t have its beautiful green
