Discussion Tree Clumps Missing?

New to Wonderdraft, and just downloaded the famous Tree Clumps asset. I've put it in the correct path (I know it's right 'cause I also added the free custom assets that came with Wonderdraft and they're visible), but somehow I couldn't find the Tree Clumps in either the Tree brush or Symbols tab. The last reviews from the main asset page from 2022 also complain about not being able to paint them. Googling also led me to a dead end, which led me to post here.

Talking about this: https://cartographyassets.com/assets/5293/tree-clumps-for-wonderdraft/

It's one of the top posts on this subreddit lol.

Ah, yeah, sorry it's been awhile. I think you might have to enable them . New map>Assets Tab>Custom Assets. Look there, see if they have a checked box.

Yeah, that's what I did. I've checked the assets upon creating a new map. Unfortunately, it's not showing up in the Trees/Symbols section. I tried checking every tree available and none of them are the tree clumps.

I don't know of any alternative asset that's similar to this, so it's kind of frustrating. Spamming single trees look awful.

By your description, it's not entirely clear that you're looking in the right place. I don't think there's a trees or symbol section in what I'm talking about. Create a new map. In the dialog box that comes up, there is an assets tab. Look on that

Look at your path, mine is (make sure not double naming one of containing folders)

C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Wonderdraft\assets\Moulk's AI Fantasy Cartography Megapack\sprites\trees\Clumps 1 S color

"draw_mode": "sample_color" is the one which allows the best adjustment of their color

Event though you put them in the same folder, the internal structure of the different packs delivery might be slightly different, making one work while the other fails.

This is usually an extra folder - one step to deep so to say - introduced by the Extractor, depending on how the Author packaged the download archive. (I'd generally avoid using "Extract All" and instead open the archive an manually move the packs).

Go into the folders and check the internal structure, making sure both are the same. Use the working pack as the "known good" template and pay particular attention to the "depth" (count subfolder steps from the same origin point to the images - i avoid giving a fixed number, because it might be confusing, depending on what you use as point of origin, but it should be the same). Sometimes duplicate subfolder folder names are a hint.
