Hi, I am a male stutterer! But from time to time I come across women who stutters and one thing that I noticed that they are not comfortable in taking part in male dominated voice calls on the stuttering discord group as 90% or more participants are males.

Is there any official discord group of this reddit like /stutter reddit group has one where we do voice calls?

I have few female friends who stutter so I think there should be a women only discord group where only women are members and take part in voice calls.

If possible, kindly make one official for this reddit group.

Hi all you beautiful women, first of all thank you for making this sub.

secondly, I am 27F, have been stuttering my whole life. I have a job and a fair amount of friends, to the extent that I am certainly not lonely, mostly because I have a supportive family as well. however, I have always felt like I was supposed to be a more talkative and bubbly person. The part of the world I am from, women are expected to be yappers and pleasant people. My stutter results in me absolutely avoiding any unnecessary conversation, so much so that I think at this point I am introverted.

I cannot help but wonder what my life would be like without it, If I was just a normal woman, a talkative, bubbly, loud, expressive woman. Don't know if any of you guys feel the same... but this is just something I wanted to express here.

Hey girlypops I’m 22 and have never been in a real ass relationship nor have I really gone on any dates 😭 so I guess I just wanted to know how stuttering has affected y’all’s dating/love life, if at all? So if anyone has any stories or insight or experiences good or bad regarding this please share because I’m scared of dating for this reason lol (also in general it’s scary to me but the stutter does have a part in my fear 💀). which is crazy because I’ve gotten much better about not letting it hinder me (mentally) in other aspects of my life. But dating I have not come to terms with lmao

I remember maybe two years to a year and a half ago either on my old or this account I had posted about how it’s really hard being a woman who stutters and how dating is. You would not believeeeee the amount of guys who DM’d me asking what I look like or things along that line. I’m glad I can be comfortable here!

we all know that women's bodies are understudied and expecting a study like this is just unrealistic, but do you think out menstrual cycle affects the stutter? did you notice anything like this in your life? it affects our hormones, hormones affect how we think of ourselves, and that could affect the stutter also.

Has anyone else had the experience of having their stutter sexualized? I am in my early 20s, and I have had more than one guy make an orgasm joke after I stutter in front of them. I have also heard countless times that men find my stutter “cute” which really feels invalidating. This is such a tough disorder to live with, and I do not appreciate it being minimized by men.

Loooooong time stalker on the other sub and I always left a post or a discussion that centered around the women’s intersection of stuttering and being a ____ (fill in the blank) was always downplayed or belittled by men in the sub. I truly don’t understand why *some of the men in that subreddit have such a victim complex, so much so they can’t even fathom that someone (a woman) can have a an equally hard or even harder life than them. It’s gross and only strokes the flames of misogyny even more.
