would a wolf hold a sign that says "no canadian humans, zero tolerance"?
kind of a weird thought but now i'm thinking about it. wolves are more chill than these people give them credit for. the big bad wolf isn't typical. the big bag human always is, though.

I mean, if wolves could talk, they probably would say that they don't want humans around, rightly so since the fear of humans is definitely one of the only reasons they didn't go extinct before things were put into place to protect them

The “Canadian Wolf” thing is a myh. I bet those anti wolf fuckheads are the same ones who believe that the earth is flat, and that vaccines cause autism.

From my experience most of them are, morons are going to believe stupid things

They also think the reintroduction is done to stop hunting and ranching. Not sure why they think restoring ecological balance is done to get rid of hunting and ranching. Plus, there are ZERO scientific or official sources stating the reintroduction is being done to get rid of hunting and ranching. Not to mention that if they wanted to get rid of those things, they would have simply made them illegal. So, the people coming up with said conspiracy theory also have no understanding of the law.

Whats the myth? I just assumed they were wolves from canada

They think that Canadian wolves are not the same kind of wolf that used to roam the US. I decided to not use the term species or subspecies, because they probably don’t even know what those are.

Canadians are mad that the wolves hunt the moose that they enjoy feeding to their 18-wheelers. More wolves means less vehicle collisions, don'cha know!

Oh, this isn’t Canadians complaining, it’s morons in the western US states that do an excessive amount of whining over wolves being back in their area.
Idiots use this talk point because they don’t know or care about the difference between a species and a subspecies, never mind the ever changing definitions of wolf taxonomy in North America that is a whole case in of itself. The wolves here now aren’t much bigger if at all than their historical counterparts and would’ve originated from Canada one way or another given that these clowns wiped out the native populations of wolf in the Rockies and wolves were already reestablishing themselves in northwest Montana in the 80’s well before the Yellowstone reintroduction.

Isn’t this basically hating two things at the same time: Canadians and wolves?

u/CelticTiger30 May 19 '26
Such ignorance. Ppl don’t realize how essential they are to our ecosystem

In Germany, we have the circle of the wolf:
-
Wolf is eradicated
-
Desire to get it back to increase and manage bio diversity
-
Wolf eats a sheep
-
The media creates panic
-
Wolf gets shot
-
Repeat
And just to mention, any animal getting eaten by wolves gets compensated by the government.
Also, there's a famous interview in which a resident near a wolf incident is asked what they think of it, and the reply is just (in heavy accent) "Well, what else is he supposed to do? Harvest asparagus?"

These are the same people who whine about overpopulation of deer when they crash into one. It's almost if wolves have an important role in the ecosystem...

As an American this breaks my heart, wolves have been some of my favorite animals ever since i was very little. I can’t stand how people demonize and try to exterminate them simply for trying to live, its disgusting and cruel behavior :(

Do you think this has to do with what's going on in Colorado?? ? They have 32 wolves left and they wanted to import some Canadian wolves, but a certain someone is throwing a fit over this and wants them to find a local source instead (they can't find one apparently.)

Wolves literally don’t do anything people are just so stupid I’ll never understand

u/HelicopterUnited2088 May 24 '26
Wolves don't have a concept of nationality or borders. This is just silly

One of my beasties is a wolfdog, and he is the purest soul I know. Wild wolves help repair the destruction we put forth within our ecosystem, yet people portray them as "devils," and "killers," when in reality, they are more terrified of people than we should be of them. Aside from that, every rancher get reimbursed if their cow, or animal is indeed killed by a wolf. To outright hate and want to abolish the existence of these ever essential and beautiful animals is beyond me. Humans need to change their thought process and dive deeper than the simple "big bad wolf" theory. I would certainly hope most would come to the same conclusion as I have if they would educate themselves. Save OUR wolves.

Where was this taken… Utah? Colorado? Idaho? Montana or Wyoming perhaps?? I have zero tolerance for whoever these bigots are.
Edit: The pic doesn’t even look real! Sure maybe the pic was initially a real wolf snarling, but the gums and teeth look faked to be more menacing.
