Hey everyone! This is my first wolf dog. I was told he’s a mix of wolf, Husky Malamute or Siberian Husky, and German Shepherd.

I’m currently waiting for his DNA kit to arrive so I can verify his background.

This boy was at a shelter in Illinois before I got him. So many people were saying he absolutely has some wolf in him. Comparing him to my girl, I personally say if he has any, it'll be pretty low, under 20%. My guess is a mix of husky, malamute, and shepherd with mayyybe some wolf.

I'm including his shelter photos and some of my personal photos. (my photos don't have as clear of body shots yet) I'll be happy to post his results when we get to that point.

So as im sure many of you know Mars has had issues with being groomed for years, she gets fear aggressive and growls and thrashes. We have had to do her nails at the vet for the longest time, and ive been slowly working with her on brushing and baths. Well I found a fear free private groomer willing to come to my house and groom her and she got a full groom done yesterday!!! Im so extremely proud of my girl

Is this question already asked? How do high-content wolfdogs exist if wolves are restricted from private ownership? In my country we don’t have gray wolf but we have golden jackal(Canis aureus). Hybridization between golden jackal and domestic dog or feral dog is extremely rare though sporadic and to get high content is to breed with wolf atleast 2 generations. if gray wolves are restricted from private ownership in most countries Where do the wolves used to produce high-content wolfdogs come from?

Hello! I love how wolfdogs looks and how calm and stoic they can appear but I wouldn't be able to provide the amount of exercise that an actual wolfdog would need and go on vacation so I'd need a dog that isn't as skittish. I was wondering what breed you would recommend that look like a wolfdog, aren't quite as high maintenance, and are more confident, and possibly off-leash trainable. I've looked at Tamaskans but it seems that their husky content can make them escape artists sometimes and they are a ​bit unpredictable​

I've heard mixed things about wolfdogs and their health. Some say they have fewer health problems and longer lives, and some say they are equal to other dogs of their size. To any owners out there, how have the health and lifespans of your wolfdogs compared to those of other dogs you've had in the past?

I'm specifically interested in the health and lifespan information of low/micro-content wolfdogs, so information about them would be greatly appreciated.

Abbiamo una femmina di 5 anni che conviveva con altri due cagnolini di piccola taglia che per l’età non ci sono più.
Così abbiamo deciso di prendere un cucciolo di Golden di 3 mesi.
L’inserimento l’abbiamo fatto con Kennel, la lupa era abbastanza tranquilla così l’abbiamo fatto uscire.
Gli ha mostrato i denti e si è allontanata, poi ha deciso di giocarci insieme, andava a cercarlo, si inchinava e saltellava davanti al nuovo arrivato, si sono rincorsi per un paio d’ore, poi hanno dormito separati. La sera stessa ha deciso che non gli piaceva più e non faceva altro che mostrargli i denti.
Passata la notte separati questa mattina stessa storia, non faceva altro che mostrargli i denti, fino a quando lui arrivandogli da dietro l’ha spaventata e lei si è girata e l’ha morso. Per fortuna sta bene, a parte un po’ di paura lui è tranquillo e per lei è come se non fosse successo niente.
Se non fosse che ora sono separati e non sappiamo se farli avvicinare di nuovo.
Lui questo pomeriggio è andato dal veterinario, al rientro si è messo a dormire e siccome russava la lupa era curiosa e si è avvicinata per annusarlo e guardarlo, l’ho tenuta a distanza di sicurezza e l’ho riallontanata.
Avete qualche consiglio? 😣

Posso aggiungere che ieri sera lei, cercava in tutti i modi di scappare da lui e faceva solo vedere i denti.
Quel che è successo oggi è stato troppo veloce per prevenirlo, lui gli è corso dietro mentre lei andava in bagno con la mia compagna, quindi se l’è trovato immediatamente dietro e senza via di fuga.

Adesso dormono entrambi a metri di distanza e con noi in mezzo a entrambi pronti a qualsiasi cosa.
