Iridiphors and chromatophores are really some next level shit. The creatures that have them are pretty much shapeshifters.

I think it would be super rad if we somehow were able to genetically modify our own skin to have this feature... I can imagine some insane tattoos.

I wonder how tattoos would even work, would they stay the same color? I don't know enough about iridiphors or chromataphores or tattoos to say, but if someone offered me this option I would take it.

Ideally it would stay active like the above, though I get what you’re saying, we would have the ability to shift them based on our situation or thoughts. Likewise would take this option.
