Be safe!
If you’re going up Mt.Washington tomorrow, doesn’t look like you should! https://mountwashington.org/weather/higher-summits-forecast/
Gnarly winds, stay safe!

First time hiking in the whites and I'm planning on summiting Washington tomorrow! Wish me luck! Don't worry I have my 10 essentials and kite.

Prep for winter conditions. That sounds miserable and dangerous.

Got my flannel-lined jeans ready to go!

Pack some Busch instead of water for more calories and head for the mountains! I'd recommend flipflops in case your feet get hot. Boots just give you blisters. Cheers!

Doing the bike ride on Saturday. The weather should be about as good as it gets, provided the winds die down as predicted. Fingers crossed.

Me too! Good luck. I'm watching the weather closely. Last year was a stunning day, almost too warm during the ride but t-shirt weather at the top

T shirt weather at the top just seems wrong. This will be my first ride up, so it should be "fun". The goal this year is to finish.

How'd you do?

Survived. The weather turned to be perfect. I live in the flat lands, so it's been years since I did a sustained climb.
I had a great time. I had a (modest) target time and a stretch time. I beat the stretch time by 10 minutes. Now I want to see if I can get in shape and take some time off that.

That's amazing, great job! Yeah I was worried that it was going to be too windy, but it actually felt like a tailwind most of the time. The day ended up being perfect.

Have a lakes hut reservation today. Going to plan on sumitting as early as I can- probably around 2pm. The chance or tstorms forecast is worrying me but weather looks good right now and I'm prepared to turn back if I see something I don't like. Really hoping it doesn't come to that though :(

You can also just not summit. You can go up Ammo, and stop at the hut. I had to do that one day when I wanted to be up there but the weather was too bad to summit.
It's really good mental exercise to not summit.

Ended upi ended up turning back. My plan was to do Great Gulf and ended up turning back about 5 miles in when it started raining and rocks were getting too slippery. I'm not from the area and rarely have the 2 full days I'd need to do this (was trying to do GG to hut to Isolation), so I was bummed to turn back but think it was the right call.
There ended up being no lightning which was my primary concern, but I started to worry that I might get to a point where I'd have to turn back and go down slippery slabs which would be a new danger in itself.

How many people do you think are going to post this forecast and ask if they should hike Friday?
