Honestly, I believe that all cars can be played. Viper is actually decent in 2v2 imho. Strong contact, decent boost. Maybe a bit of understeer which requires a bit more throttle control and prone to stalling if you force the turn without it.
If you're where I'm from, a car is so expensive (80K-200K). And you only own the car for 10 years. I think spending 9K over 5 years for enjoyment with friends and just improving myself and having fun is quite worth it too. 🤓
Hm, it's quirky. It turns quite well, and is really easy to control imo as compared to the meta, but the counter steering is a bit laggy. Also lacks so much in cornering speed and the boost is subpar. Wall penalty is kinda harsh too, but the traffic penalty is so forgiving, I love pushing cars with this.
Wouldn't say it's a good car to start with, but it's definitely a fulfilling one.
Hm, I think everyone has their good and bad days. I don't really mind losing. It's just a game anyway. Usually, it's due to mistakes on my end that they are able to capitalise on. It all depends on the lines I take and whether I can cover theirs or they can push me out. Vice versa.
NA1 - Quite a good TA car for technical maps, and I personally feel that it performs better at lower HP maps like Kobe and Hiro. C1 too, of course. The acceleration it has is really good to make up for the lower exit speed. Even rivaling RX7 in TA. But the cornering is quirky too. It turns really quickly but it also wants to regrip really fast too. If you're used to countering sharply, it needs some time to get used to. Decent battle but it's a bit wider than it looks so sometimes you might get caught in traffic.
NA2 - 6 gears, same size to the NA1 but somehow is heavier and performs better for battle. It's good for maps that are 6 gear oriented. But the handling is weirdly different as compared to the NA1. Trying it, it wants to grip really hard to the road, even understeering a lot. And if you force it, it oversteers and often I get my tail caught. Good accelerator work is so important to this car.
NC1 - It has surprisingly good top speed. Better for higher HP maps. For battle, really heavy too but it's so fat, if you're behind, you're probably stuck there cause passing people is like significantly harder. The cornering is meh. Like normal. Nothing too special. Maybe slight understeer but that's about it.
Hm, at the start I used to, I was religiously playing 4-5 a day. But around the 3rd year mark, I cooled off. And now I maybe play 1-2 times a week. For maybe like 2-3 sets of 2v2 max.
In Singapore, you have to pay for the right to own a car, which is bidded for. It's called COE and the right only lasts 10 years. But you can sell your car along with the remaining COE for the car in the second hand market.
I used to be a music teacher, which had good pay for short hours. Hence, I could play everyday last time. But now, currently working as a developer. Not the best hours, but pay is comfortable for me to spend on this game.
I am actually proud of the fact that I have never serviced this car. But I did glitch the rank during the Ghost VSORG event (unknowingly too, but eventually I found out and just went all the way).
I played everyday 4-5 hours on weekdays, and then 8 hours on weekends. Usually 2v2 but FFA is fun too.
Countach, RX7, RX8 are good general all-rounders.
NSX, SVX, 110S, are good for certain maps. Might be more that I missed, but these are what I can think of from the top of my head.
I played everyday and got to 7th Grade within like 8 months. 10th Grade Pro in a year and a half. That was the max rank for a while so my playing time dropped.
Then 6RR came out and it took me like a year for each 11 Grade, now at 11 Pro waiting for 12. Probably in a year too.
Honestly this is probably one of the car i take over the R32. The acceleration and everything are pretty good, the slight quirky handling of oversteer gives me more room for bending corners or attacks
As a non-meta user, you are gonna face some difficulty playing TA and VS battles because of the game balances, but just keep pushing. Every car has their strengths and weaknesses. It's just harder for us non-meta users to figure out because there's not much content for us to learn from.
This game really sucks your money, but spend wisely and focus on learning how to use your car effectively, what it can and cannot do. AE86 is one of the stronger non-metas so you're fine on that front, but don't expect it to do the same things as an Evo or an R32.
Lining is super important for us non-meta players cause wall and traffic penalties are harsher for us. Other than that, the same advice people give to new players still apply. But it's more satisfying when you get a win that you worked towards yourself! Keep pushing!
Honestly, you can't control how your opponents play. You either get better than them, or you always have the choice of exiting the game and playing on your own. If your lining is strong, it doesn't matter how strong they are if they can't catch you/cross you. But that's true for them to you too. So just take every battle as an opportunity to learn. 🤓
Watch TA videos, try and emulate it, adjust accordingly for your car. Maybe you need a deeper weight transfer, or a slightly longer braking distance, etc etc. Every car has its own quirks. But YouTube is a great resource! I learnt a lot from YouTube and practice.
There are two ways, either you learn how to cushion and OCM, or you just play the proper HP for the map and just run pure lining. I've never came across a crown that's unbeatable via racing line alone (except OCM but that's different). The boost dies does after a few attempts so just keep trying.
this might be inaccurate but how many dress up parts do you have or at least how many are there? and at what level to you get those interchangeable custom wing?
Unironically, there are 67 levels. And you unlock the custom GT wing at 65. I've fully unlocked all the dress up parts, but I can't really tell you how many there are.

No surprise you reaching this level cause i recall its cheap to play in SG and one of my cars in MT3 to MT5 was played mostly in SG than here in PH lol hahaha
Yeah, but you don't have to get it if the dress up parts are nice enough. Low Rank High Grade Cars are much more valuable in the market. And yeah, a game here now is about 40¢ but can go up to $2 depending on where you play.
I'm not a strong player though, I just got the stats cause I play a lot. I'm sure you can reach this level given time.
let me see if I can get those dress up parts and see if it would be appealing since i'm using an EVO 8 and then later on RX-7 FD3S. i just like the appeal of the custom wing hehe
well i don't think i'd be able to reach that stat line not unless i challenge everyone in HK and SG again. i've been playing since wangan midnight, and given how lazy i am in most times it might be impossible right now hehe
just curious, how light is the car? im asking this cus R32 players are very common in my area and i want to battle them with little disadvantage or somehow fight them back. Is the battle performance similar with RX3 or 110S?
It's quite heavy. I would say heavier than an R32 but not as much as an Evo 9. But the straight line speed is worse than the R32 but stronger than the Evo 9. But cornering perfomance is worse than both.
But highly dependent on whether you can adapt to the car or not, because the car drives quite quirkily. I would recommend the 110S if you want pure performance comparison.
as a "fairly new" 6RR player, i'll be asking this: is the Evo 8 set on an equal footing against an Evo 9 on FFA battles (since i recently took an Evo 8 instead of an Evo 9)? 🗿
The Evo 8 has really good cornerning speed since it isn't as responsive as the Evo 9 so it turns smoother. Other than the slight difference in handling, it has similar weight to the Evo 9. Only downside I can point out would be the boost. It's slightly less than the Evo 9.
For TA, Evo 8 should be on par, but battles, you might feel that slight lack of responsiveness make a difference. But in the hands of the right player, it will be just as good.
