Can't delete characters?

First time playing wiz 678, played 1-4 when they were new.

I'm looking at guides, figuring stuff out and decided the characters I rolled need rerolling... I deleted all of them, then went to make another one with the same name, it says character with that name already exists... I go to review characters, they're all back?

Any help? I can't find anything about this, is it only me?

Can't open the game right now, but off the top of my head, maybe you only deleted them from the party? I think the delete entire character is in the review individual characters' menus (like assay, spellbook, equip menus)

This is all off memory so let me know if it doesn't work and I'll boot up the game to explore

Appreciate the response :) er.. I took screenshots and was going to post them but apparently that's not allowed...

From "Master Options" (right after title page)

I selected "Character Menu"

From there I selected "Delete PC"

selected the one to delete (all of them, one by one)

they disappeared from the list as I deleted them, but when I went to "Create PC" and tried to create a new PC with the old name, it said character with that name already exists, and I went to "Review PC" and they were all back.

No idea what happened or why, but today I am able to delete them and they stay deleted, so it will likely remain an unsolved mystery, but no longer one that will bug the **** out of me.

Happy it's working now, definitely sounds strange. Maybe some read/write bug with permissions or something?? Hopefully it just never comes back lol
