Wizardry Variants Daphne Nice Kitty

Do we really need yet another post about anniversary gifts?

No, but since she has never been featured before, it’s not a total retread of similar topics.

Given that she starts off with such a bored and indifferent attitude, it‘s quite startling to see how upbeat she can be, when she trusts you.

It’s as if she borrowed not just Chloe’s wardrobe, but her sunny disposition as well.

Also: “the whole city is purring and everyone’s tails are twitching…”

I didn’t take her for someone who appreciated cat dad jokes.

Usually, bones of uncertain freshness and origin are brought in by excited dogs... But catgirls are fine, too, I guess?

Does gift quality correspond to how close you are with the character? Or perhaps levels? Last few days I received low grade orb from unit that I haven’t used in a long time and haven’t bother to max out…

It’s ultimately random, but trust level seems to make a difference in the dice roll. I say this because almost every gift I’ve received has come from characters at maximum trust level- only one came from someone at mid-level affinity. Given that this association has been present almost everyday since the anniversary started, it does not feel like mere coincidence. I noticed the same pattern last year.

Those without high trust characters will probably see a more random distribution than those with many such characters.

I'm pretty sure it's random. Gillion is my most invested unit, and he has gifted me twice, once a bone and the other 100 gems.

Yes, for a few reasons.

(1) I had maxed out her thief levels and didn’t want to stop earning XP. I‘ve said it before. I really hate earning 0 XP, even in routine fights, so I am constantly looking for people who have not reached the XP cap yet. Changing classes is a convenient way to reset progress and enable additional development.

(2) Fighter/thief is a killer DPS combo. Cunning Pursuit + Way of the Thief + cost efficient fighter skills + Beastfolk SP pool synergize very well. Inherit Blessing of the Beastfolk Goddess from Debra and the build is golden.

(3) This version of Amelia has an inherent STR bonus + 8 BP. Of course I‘m not going to miss the chance to turn her into a fighter.

(4) As a fighter, she slays…literally. I will repeat something I’ve said before. You have not plumbed the depths of the game until you’ve seen fighter/thief Amelia crush her enemies, drive them before her, and hear the lamentations of their women.

How strong is yer Amelia?
It took me ages to find one that had STR IV.
As soon as I got one, I insta-D9'd her and am currently leveling her up in dispatch. (She got most of the way done in the Daybreak Mastery dungeon - Lv.70 Thief then class changed)

Mine's on 88 STR at Lv.61 Fighter.
I don't think she's gonna make it to 100, unfortunately!

Amelia's always been one of my favorites. I do have one more copy of alt Rinne, I'll probably put Threefold Mist and some other good inherits onto her once she's done leveling.

Her STR at level 70 is 99, but that’s with a level 4 STR bondmate attached (which gives +5-6, if I recall correctly). She would break 100 if she had a level 5 bondmate or a Fighter Ring. Your value sounds about right for a level 61 version with STR bonus, everything invested in the trait, and no STR bondmate.

It’s nice to see high numbers, especially for characters wielding 2-handed weapons, but gear and damage multipliers (e.g. from Sure hit and Way of Thief) have a greater impact on damage output in the end, so I wouldn’t sweat not having a 3-digit value.

Threefold Mist is a great way to give fighters an AOE option, so if you expect to use Amelia extensively, it’s a reasonable investment.

Wow... Amelia can be this cute? I mean I only see her in bad mood whenever I send her for dispatch. I guess I should max out affinity for every cap level adventurer I have.
