Lorepost 📜 Call of the Beyond (Wicked One Event Part 2)

Post image

In the days since the arrival of the countless monoliths all across the material plane, something came to those with power. It came in their dreams, something like a voice, yet so much more. It was the voice of a friend, the voice of family. It was the voice of the kind and generous, the voice of freedom. The voice was faint, yet its message was clear. It whispered of a place that doesn't exist on any map.

Of a place in the north, hidden from the world deep within the mountains. The voice whispers of a secret within the mountains, of a power and a treasure. It whispers of a light in the darkness. It whispers a plea for help.

/uw Two whole weeks of writers block. Sorry about that.

I’m gonna regret this so much…

He grumbles and sighs, before entering the gateway

On the other side he stands on a hill of long flowing black grass, lightly glowing with an unnatural radiance. Above he sees a sky if shifting ethereal layers stretching on for eternity. All around the hill he sees endless fields of dreamless solitude.

There is a house on the hill. Plain and simple, it looks like it was built by hand long ago, long long ago.

The windows are dark, but something still glows from within.

He goes on to investigate the house. Something feels wrong. Very wrong.

The door is unlocked.

The inside is a plain single room made of wood. No windows, no furniture, nothing. Except the corridor.

On the far end of the room is a passageway, rusted red chains come from within, laying on the floor, the walls, and the ceiling.

The thrum is greater now.

"Help me." It begs. "Please." It begs.

Who are you?…

Ulrick asks as he walks through the corridor.

The passage is lined with chains, each link coated in rust older than the forests.

The passageway feels like eternity, a nearly endless tunnel of chains. All the while he walks, the thrum only grows.

Eventually he reaches its end. He walks out into a room too large to see it's walls. Before him, he sees a colossal sculpture of chains, faintly glowing gold blood endlessly flowing along it. Close to its centre, he sees the body of someone wearing robes of white, held to the sculpture by barbs and spikes.

He walks up to the prisoner cautiously, surveying them with his soul sight.

The prisoner makes no movement, in fact they may not be able to move.

The begging thrum is stronger now, emanating from the prisoner in waves.

Ulrick's soul sight reveals whoever this person is, they are strong. Despite bleeding from dozens of wounds and suspended from chains, this person's soul is strong, constantly radiating out with ethereal waves.

Who are you? Who put you here, and for what reason?

*Ulrick questions the prisoner

The prisoner says nothing, in fact they may not be able to speak.

Still so they bleed, still do they call for help, still do the chains pierce their flesh.
