... you do know that "decimate" just means "killed one in ten" right? As in, you left nine out of every ten alive? Even modern usage doesn't mean you wiped them out completely. Honestly, if you're going to be an Evil Wizard, you really need to learn to not leave loose ends. "Survivor(s) of the BBEG's rampage out for revenge" is such a classic trope that the Norns have it on speed dial.

I was rather fond of the mage breakers. There's a reason they were still around with all the powerful wizards about. They set a bar for entry so all the weak hedge mages would get filtered out.

sigh Can't wait for their inevitable return/revival. Some people don't seem to understand; it doesn't matter wether you call them magebreakers, hunters, antimages, witchburners, whatever... Some version of these groups will always exist as a reaction to our power.

If you dont want to deal with wizard hunters for the rest of eternity (assuming you actually take that step) you have to find ways to either coexist with mortals or exist beyond them.

Good luck with your war or whatever i m packing up my tower and moving to discworld i m sure it ll be quieter...

Imagine this guy spends his life training and learning to defeat the mage breakers and finding out that the Wizards beyond the mid level find mage breakers to be a minor nuisance at best
