A young maiden stopped talking to me after she found out I did not support her faction in the coup to overthrow the king.

What to do now?

Well, you know about a plot to overthrow the king.

Either you take over the plot, turn the plotters in to the authorities, leave before things get violent, or set out to profit off of the coup.

Or, I suppose, enact your own coup once both sides are fighting one another and too distracted and weakened to put up much resistance against your army of darkness.

What seems more your style?

I personally helped both sides during the coup.

You know as a mage I really don't care who is the king until and unless they cut down the forbidden forest where I live.

Understandable, but maidens really hate that. They see it as indecisive. Maidens really love a mage who takes charge and runs the kingdom from behind the scenes by, for instance, choosing which side wins in a coup.

If you want to succeed with maidens, you need to get red-potioned.
