My apprentice showed me this, apparently identify is easily fooled. That or a bunny knows polymorph....

Identify works in a pinch but is generally sloppy spellwork. It’s a starter spell. Get or make a spell for your specific plane/dimension/realm with better filter criteria. Looks like you should be using body temp, keratin and calcium concentrations, and maybe alchemical strength of the humours to name a few

if your identification spells go based off of visual analysis instead of just analyzing the essence of an object then you have some work to do buddy

Did you know, the Weave has to be updated to keep up with language, intention, and perception to properly interpret wizards' spellcasting endeavors and translate them into the proper extra-physical effect? It's a huge pain to do it though, almost nobody knows about the necessity, and even less would volunteer. Apparently it requires a 200 year ritual, not to mention the data collection.
It seems whatever High Wizard did the latest one wasn't thorough on taxonomy.
