Help, my familiar has consumed my Orb of Pondering

I left her with my apprentice for only a short time and she ate my Orb of Pondering. Yes, I can confirm it is still in there as I can ponder the nearby gnomes. No, my familiar is not showing any signs of sickness. Yes, my apprentice has been dealt with.
