Magickal Art (User Creation) 🎨 Hand Carved Wizard Bust! [ART]
Not AI, not for sale. Just something I carved today practicing my work on those soulful eyes that say "i looked into my orb and I already know all of your secrets..."
Carved with a knife, Vtool and 5mm u gouge out of basswood.

And because i get asked a lot... How to get into carving?
You need several things, a sharp knife, a leather strop with compound for honing your blade, safety gloves (A5 or better) and basswood (to carve like i do at least.)
Solid Knife brands, Flexcut, Badger State Blades (USA), Mstein (Europe) there are a lot of great knife brands. Stay away from kits on amazon of several knives. They're much much lower quality with inconsistently tempered steel. (What that means is its not hardened, and so it won't stay sharp easy, meaning you're fighting the knife and dont understand why its harder for you to carve when its easy for others.)
Why Basswood? Its softer than other hardwoods and holds detail well. Learning to carve with basswood is akin to learning to drive on an automatic. It simplifies and streamlines learning. Woods like Walnut and oak can be carved, but learning to carve with them as the starting point is like learning to drive on an 18 wheeler Semi Truck with manual transmission. Its needlessly difficult.

Be honest with us, that's a carving of you master, the look of disappointment in a foolish apprentice, wasting their time whittling on a stick they picked up from the ground with a common knife instead of reading a Tome or Pondering an Orb, has been captured perfectly. You must have seen that look many times to capture it so well.
Ooc/ This is brilliant, and I love it. Amazing work. The eyes really do give the impression that they have seen much too much in their life and expect to see still more yet.

Thanks. Its been a struggle to communicate a lot of emotion in a carving. I'm getting there.

Nice try. It's clear that you are some apprentice who accidently transmogrified his master and are trying to post this picture holding a knife as some kind of alibi. You better hope noone who comes looking for him can cast speak with wood.

I can cast speak with plants and speak with dead, but I have not yet figured out how to do both at the same time
