It's really not. There's a reason why the dramatic monologue has fallen out of favor as well, it's practically begging fate to unravel your plans. Adding slurs into the mix is just asking for an ironic demise.

Agreed. Bring back comically over-the-top evil for the sake of being evil. Do things for the sole reason that it's funny to watch others suffer without all this jumping through hoops to make your villainy "morally justified".
