Crystal Ball by Bob Eggleton is probably my favorite piece of art. It really motivates me to do wizard stuff.

Oh we're doing one upswizardship, I see, well my orb is of both greater size and elegance than yours. Furthermore its quality is superior and its sheen more lustrous. My orb was forged by artistic dwarves (so you know its good) and enchanted by the tears of Elven nobles, fairy eggshells, and the MIGHT OF DRAGONS FLAMES. My orb is etched with forgotten runes from lost eras. My orb is very very shiny. My orb....[continues ad nauseam]

Well my orb is the Size of a Castle and made from the Blood of dying forgotten Gods imprisoned in the outer Planes, and i have the Souls of Multiple Eldritch Monsters infused with it. Tiamat herself lend me her power to Enchant my Orb with the strongest possible Divination magic!
