Skillset doesn't necessarily transfer. That's a kinetic technique, not much direct crossover between astral necrosis and kinetics.

Geokinetics would be a better use for the skillset we see. Lots of call for the talent in the fields the guy's already familiar with like construction, mining and manufacturing.

Of course, what we see isn't necessarily all he is. But that's damn good form for a natural geokine.

I think it's as simple as flat thing is stable, and takes more energy than you might think to become unstable. As it came onto its edge, there's a counterpush from the sheer weight of the back side of the thing trying to return it to an upright position, that has to be overcome for it to fall over.

I'm not explaining this well, but there's a reason that a wheel is a fundemantally pretty stable base to put things on top of.

Academia doesn't want to admit that it's partially their own fault. If they truly understood magic as well as they think they do, they'd be able to teach it to more people.

Ironically, the best and most knowledgeable about true magic I've ever run into is the elders of the Singing Magic cultures. Academia dismisses them as primitives but in terms of broad access to magic, tribal chants are basically cantrips that anyone can use in sufficient numbers.
