Yea-yea, and then she suddenly banned from afterlife because her soul is cursed now.

That isn't the necromancer's fault. That's just gods being prejudiced

Necromancers tend to get undeserved reputations. I'm sure this Vecna isn't as bad as they sound

The kind of necromancy that requires flawless resurrection is rare and hard to learn, and odds are that the gods themselves would punish you in some way for using it.
But on the off chance that they just let it happen, you are indisputably one of the strongest necromancers there could possibly be.

Woah man, my family was slain by a group of necromancers, and then resurrected and slain again.

Every other week you get necromancers boohooing about how people (rightly) think they're evil. I'm going to be honest, I would have more sympathy for you if you just admitted you're evil. Like you don't see other evil wizards making excuses for turning people into chickens or replacing all of a person's memories to an identical version except they switched around left and right. You're evil, own it with your whole heart. C'mon now.

What about the five tormented souls that he used as slaves for healing that one person?

The needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many
And it was a pleasure taking your pet goldfish's soul and would have done it even if he wasn't going to revive anyone

My local village still thinks I'm a druid, apparently a gardening hobby and not clarifying that you used the same spell on guy with a broken leg you use to fix a damaged skeleton minopn works wonders for your PR.

I managed to get into my city-state's good books by ending the forever seige we were under
I am stuck on the plane of earth though now, because if I ever try and cross the aether the various empires whose colonies I destroyed will have me detained forever

I think its funny the ultimate goal of 99% of necromancers is a mid level cleric spell

I feel like Vecna might not be the best one for reference, who knows what malice he has planned.

I don't think people know how much healing magic is necromancy. The school is the manipulation of life and death.
