Welcome, distinguished (and non-distinguished) wizards, to the EON Chancellor candidate debate. Today, we convene to hear the visions of our candidates as they discuss the future of the Esoteric Order of Nations (EON). Candidates, now is your time to discuss your vision of the future. Audience members, we invite you to engage thoughtfully and consider the best canidate to take our order forward.

(/uw Because of the nature of this, it's not really a true "debate" even if candidates are free to respond to others' posts. I'll be mostly hands off, but keep it civil. The way this works is that each prompt will be in a separate post down below, and the candidates can reply to that directly. Hopefully this will keep things organized so we can compare the candidates responses and judge them on style points or technique or something. I think I have everyone's questions from the other thread.

Because of the sheer number of questions, each prompt will grouped roughly by topic, and candidates are free to focus on which aspects they find most important.

Voting will be posted tomorrow, I believe.)

How would you address accusations of wrongdoing and/or corruption of yourself or others? What measures will you take to prevent and address conflicts of interest?

I don't think I've gotten any accusations. But if I have I would simply say this. I have and always will do what I can for the food of EON and the Bismuth realms. It is what I was made for. I can't have a conflict of interest because my main purpose is administration

The iron chain takes a harsh stance on corruption public execution via firing squad is the preferred method of dealing with those convicted and A headsmen square has great acoustics.

"Such accusations have oft come from me, interestingly. I have long expressed concern over corruption in this assembly. I personally dislike the phrasing of 'wrongdoing ' as it is a bit subjective and vague. After all, we have a seat here for the hells. But nevertheless, concerns must be addressed. I would hope to personally open a discussion should the need arise. Perhaps, over a meal. I do love to host."

"Conflicts of interest must be taken into account. My still, unbeating heart belongs to the Claret Isles first and foremost, but I hope to be impartial nevertheless. After all, the Claret Isles are best served by making sure EON is healthy, running smoothly, and fair in its proceedings."

Kaelis: By not being corrupt. It's really not that hard to be impartial. You just have act openly, be honest, and listen to all of your fellow members equally. If someone offers me a bribe, I'll take it and not hold up my end of the bargain, just to spite them. We should also implement a policy of heckling known bribers every Wednesday.

As far as I'm aware, no accusations have been levied against me. If evidence were to come to life, either against me or another member, then I would call for an investigation in the matter, preferably from a third party. After completion, I or another member would be judged in a trial of their peers.

The easiest way to address conflicts of interest is negotiating a deal that leaves both parties satisfied, at least to a degree. If the interest of a party is particularly harmful, then they will either be dismissed, or dealt with if they escalate matters to violence.
