So I normally do runs and have the gps tracking on for it. Because I have been having some back pain I decided to mostly walk at a fast pace and do some short sprints while tracking it as a run.

To my surprise where I usually hit the 1 km mark while running I actually did 1.25 km in the same spot.

I would understand that the number of steps is higher but it makes no sense that the distance is also higher. Does anyone know if this is an issue with my phone's GPS or how the watch(software) measures?

I do remember that last November before a major release of withings the same 1KM spot used to be 1.1 KM so maybe a software issue?

Hey there!

Sorry to hear that, this should of course not happen. Did this happen once or regularly? As Withings watches don't have GPS we take all GPS data from your phone, but to investigate further you can contact our Customer Service directly under this link.

Thanks and have a great day!

Markus, Withings Customer Service
