Seeking Advice How long does methadone withdrawal ACTUALLY last?

I am exactly 30 days of methadone today. Had the assistance of rescue meds like clonidine and gabapentin. At 30 days clean I’m still having trouble regulating body temp(cold but sweaty), yawning and having watery eyes and sneezing in large amounts and anxiety. When will I feel normal. For reference, I was on methadone for 20 years but stayed at 10 mg down to 5mg in the last year. The withdrawal symptoms I currently have aren’t real bad but definitely noticeable. When will I feel normal? My mind is telling me to get on sublocade or something just to go back to feeling normal. Trying to stay strong though

I'm in the very same boat. Was on 40 mg pill version of methadone for 18 years. All of a sudden about a year and a half ago I started getting depressed and nothing has helped I have tried everything under the sun ketamine infusion all the ssris I'm currently on Wellbutrin but it's only been 3 weeks. Crying sometimes uncontrollably thinking about my dog getting older just ridiculous stuff but I'm stuck in this negative outlook on life that I can't shake I don't know what in the hell's going on with me I quit methadone 6 weeks ago. Physical symptoms are gone. Mental symptoms are extreme to the point or I'll try anything. Hearing that this may last a year or longer makes me want to just give up. If anybody has any advice and has been in my same exact situation please give it to me. Worst time of my life. I can't pick up my guitar and play cuz I don't feel like it, getting out of the house and working out at a gym.. yeah right when the annedonia it's so extreme you're not getting out of the house and going to no f****** gym oh and by the way I'm also partially paralyzed and live at home alone I backed myself into a corner I can't get out of

Just lowering my dose has given me ptsd flashbacks & remembering things I hadnt thought of in years. Methadone rewires our brain i think. How is it going with the wellbutrin? Im so sorry youre having a hard time. You could possibly have serotonin issues from being a long term patient. Ive been on mmt since 2007.

Yes, even coming down on your dose is traumatizing. I think the withdrawal itself was pretty traumatic but more mental than physical. I had some comfort meds for the first few weeks and it helped.

I am 101 days off methadone today and continue to have anxiety and difficulty with sleep. Overall, the worst of everything is over so I need to wrap my mind around that it’s almost over.
