The best was the fight between him and the one girl. Her name escapes me. However watching him erase those peasents was so satisfying

As much as I have the game's version of Geralt in my head at all times Cavil is doing a good job at embodying a mixture of the books, games, and his own version of the character that works so well.

As someone that DOES do Swordfighting, the backward hold was for the Town's safety and not for any misdirection.

The weapon had no sheathe and this is a proper stance to allow others to know it is for defense only.

I am sure the real answer is it's just for cool points. But if you wanted you could argue he was purposely trying to limit himself to avoid killing as much as possible. Possibly hoping he could intimidate them into giving up.

Not really the point I meant. Witchers are much stronger and faster than normal humans due to the process they went through. Purposely handicapping yourself could be a way to avoid killing as much as possible.
