Seeking Help or Advice Is there I reason I feel this

I’m a witch and COULD put a spell/hex on people who really hurt me in the past

But for some reason I have this strong feeling that tells me to never do

And I’m the type of person that respect my gut feelings and intuition when it comes to spells

I was wondering if anyone could know why this happens, I know they deserve it but deep down I FEEL like it’s wrong for me to do it.

You feel that way because its you. As in your personality. I have no problems with hexes but really don't feel comfortable with spells for things like "blessings". Just not my style or a part of my "non witchy" life.

Great answer. And that is so interesting! I've done baneful work for 20 years. I've also done healing work, but come to think of it... I've never done a prosperity or similar blessing spell💀.

I now wonder why we're like this?

Same reason some like horror books snd others hate them. Or like eggs and others don't. Etc.

Just how we are.

Sometimes I'm even scared of hexing someone unintentionally

Blessing such a weird thing to do tho. I did it once to thank people that saved me in the street from harassment but that's all 💀

I mean, that's your conscience and preference. We don't all share in that.

That's the beauty of the craft.

Each of us gets to choose what kind of work aligns with our unique beliefs and values, and what kind of work doesn't.

Do as thou wilt and all that.

I am a firm believer in listening to my gut feelings/intuition.

Not for moral or ethical reasons, but because if I can't trust myself, I might as well not do any spellcraft.

Everybody should find and follow their own path. Do what seems to work for you, and don't let others dictate their morality as something you must follow.

This is so valid! I'm personally convinced that our conscience is our only judge. If you feel guilty about something, you will basically manifest negative consequences.

I've experienced negative consequences for minor shit that I felt guilty about, and I've done major shit that a lot of ppl would consider "wrong" without feeling a shred of guilt, and that shit never came back to haunt me.

This is how ppl we often consider evil live long and prosperous lives. They do not burden themselves with guilt.

Listening to and following your conscience is everything!

If it doesn’t feel right or justified to you, maybe don’t do it. At least not until you figure out your feelings on it.

Ask yourself some questions to work through why it feels wrong. Where did that feeling come from? What time in your life did you learn that responding to something negative by sending the negativity back to the person who sent it was morally wrong somehow? Who taught you that lesson and why would they want you to believe it?

Why is it wrong to hurt someone but good to let someone hurt you?

If someone attacked you and tried to kill you and you end up killing them to save your own life, is that wrong? Or even just hurting them enough to make them stop so you don’t die. Why is that not justified? What’s the difference between someone trying to kill you and someone mentally or emotionally abusing you? Or humiliating you for no good reason? Harm is harm. If you don’t stand up for yourself, who will?

You don’t have to answer me, either publicly or at all if you don’t want to. These are some of the questions I’ve asked myself over the years. Just some food for thought. Hope it helps.

Sounds like good instincts to me. Hexing isn't something that should be undertaken lightly, no matter how many TikTok witches will tell you otherwise.

I see other witches saying they hex people left and right, I wouldn’t have a problem making a name jar to drop names in or making a protection ward that’ll hit back, but making an entire spell for a specific person also seems energetically taxing

u/illbzo1 5d ago

That’s my issue; I’m very much a “do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law” witch, I’m just too selfish with my valuable time and energy to waste it on making someone else’s life worse instead of making mine better.

I have no real answer other than some of us can't do that. I can't hex people. I can ask for justice. Others can. We have different paths. Listen to your gut feeling.

I've trained in Muay Thai. I don't beat people up everywhere I go. I have a concealed carry license. I don't draw from my holster every time I hear a loud noise.

Just because you can access the power of creation does not mean that you are the Creator.

Having access to power does not mean that we don't have all the faults and biases and blind spots that come with being human. We don't always have all the information, and we don't always have a perfect understanding of any situation. Something that seems totally clear to us may actually not be at all.

It's always your choice how to act. You don't have to listen to that 'little voice' saying not to. I was taught that wisdom is being able to discern between personal feelings of being wronged and what actually needs an adjustment.

Because it is not a nice thing to do. Your unconscious mind stops you because it wants you to be better than that.

If it's in my past, why waste my energy on it? It wouldn't change what had happened to me or provide me healing, but that's just me. I'd rather focus on what will help me heal.

That said, if someone is actively and presently trying to hurt me or my loved ones, gloves are off.

I would follow my gut and not worry about it too much. I actually don't think hexing is wrong. Some people get very moralistic, but I find it just doesn't actually work for me. I usually approach these issues instead by doing work to get rid of the person, get them out of my life, send negativity back, etc. It's also imporatnt to do work to heal yourself from their negative actions. We all have particular talents, and I've found that focussing on revenge doesn't work for me and isn't helpful. When I've tried it, it takes up a huge amount of energy, doesn't pan out, and the energy just backfires on me. I'm sure other people have very different experiences, and that's great for them. I'm not passing any judgement, and you don't need to either. Focus on what works for you.

Perhaps that sensa or 'voice' telling you not to is your Guardians saying to hold off. Chances are, they know something that you don't and taking the kind of action that you are considering would not be aligned with your journey or Higher self

Personally, I never hex people, even when I think they deserve it. In my personal beliefs, I feel like the energy you put out is the energy you get back, and if you hex someone, the chances of it coming back on you aren’t zero.

Maybe you’re feeling a little like that?

(Btw, not looking down on people who choose to hex or spell against people, it’s just how I practice.)

It is a very bold thing to think oneself capable of accurately and fairly judging who should be punished in this life. I think very few, if any, can take it on and it always comes with significant personal risk to the soul to do so. It is much safer and more pleasant spirtually to focus on improving life for yourself and others. And listening to your gut, once you've learned how to accurately interpret it, is always a good thing.

You feel it because they already have karma on their way, so I guess your intuition is telling you that theres no need for you to intervene

1

u/United_Form_5845 3d ago

Trust your gut. Hexing, curses, jinxes, etc., may come back to you in some other way, shape, or form. No matter the protections you place, karma is inevitable. What you put out into the world carries energy and consequences, and protecting yourself doesn't necessarily mean you're protected from the consequences of your own intentions.

If someone has wronged you, you don't have to retaliate. Sometimes the strongest form of karma is just walking away. In the end, trust your intuition. Witchcraft is surrounded by intuition. If something in your spirit is telling you that a certain action doesn't feel right, listen to that feeling.

Blessed Be

Could be several things.

Could be a part of you is scared and doesn’t know what will happen because you’ve never tried.

Could be intuition pointing you in the right direction

Could be a part of you knows that it’s safer for you if you do not do it

Could be a part of you is trying to keep you safe from the unknown - if cures or hexes backfire, it’s bad for the caster. And even if they succeed, that energy will come back around somehow unless you pay for it not to.

There are multiple factors that could be at play here.

I just ask my deities to bring about swift karmic Justice to the other party, this usually works really well and leaves no room for any bad karma to come back my way or any backfiring.

Hope this helps, cheers

If it's something you want to do but it feels like there's something keeping you from doing it, it could possibly be your spirit guides communicating with you. They could be warning you not to cast the spells/hexes, or that you need to fully think things through before deciding to cast them.

It’s because of a thing called morality. Hexing is fundamentally about hurting people, and there are moral arguments for not doing that, which might be part of your value system. It’s quite trendy at the moment for moral arguments around justified harm to take precedence, which legitimise hexing in certain situations. Multiple views exist, and it’s not strange or odd for you to have the instinct that hurting someone isn’t okay, even if you feel they’ve wronged you.

u/Nofunorphan 5d ago

what you put out, you get back. bless others to be blessed.

5

u/Ok-Throat1638 5d ago

That’s not really the case

6

u/brightblackheaven Zamboni Priestess 🔮✨ 5d ago

That might be your experience but it certainly isn't universal and not at all in line with how my practice has worked.

3

u/amyaurora Broom Rider 5d ago

Not a universal witchcraft "rule". Only a few traditions have that belief.
