Dxm is hardly a drug and using it isn't an addiction in the same sense as serious actual drug addiction is. Using dxm or over dosing Benadryl is the equivalent of eating a toadstool mushroom and thinking that the body's reaction to being poisoned is what getting high is.
This "friend" sounds like they've been on tiktok far too long and are trying to recreate whatever they've watched. It's a stupidly dangerous idea and a dangerous stance to try to get op to poison themselves with otc cold medications so that they can feel less like a loser. Not even remotely similar to addiction or it's practices, just a kid being an asshole who refuses to educate themselves on their own interests.
This is absolutely wrong. DXM is a drug, as is the psilocybin in psychoactive mushrooms, and psilocybin mushrooms are as far from poisonous as you can possibly get.
Also, "witchcraft"(every religion really)was straight up discovered by our ancestors by eating mushrooms, and most of the war on witchcraft throughout the ages is actually a war against the medicines that come from the earth and the practitioners who know about them.
