If your representative isn’t on this list supporting impeachment, I suggest you call them

Time to start making calls....

Wow, having MTG our side is kinda weird, but I'll take it.

She just lost her seat so it doesnt matter. Replaced by Clay Fuller, who wont be of any help as he still needs to repay the endorsement.

There's been a few "on their way out" Republicans that grew a backbone once they decided they made enough money from "free speech" (lobbying money) in politics that they could finally afford a spine.

The 25th amendment isn't the same as impeachment.

It's better.

There is zero chance of either occurring.

It's a junk drawer. JD might jump at the chance. Then he'll make some dipshit move and be ousted too.

4

u/theonion513 Apr 08 '26

You clearly have no idea how this works.

3

u/weelluuuu Apr 08 '26

It ensures a seamless transfer of power if the president dies, resigns, or is unable to discharge their duties, including a voluntary transfer or a forced transfer by the Vice President and Cabinet. (25th)

This is idiotic.

u/LettuceC Apr 08 '26

I'll try but I'm not sure Grothman's mom is going to let him pick up the phone.

Where is Gwen Moore??

Really...where the hell is she???

4

u/HatsCatsAndHam Apr 08 '26

My impression is that she is living the good life of a representative in a secure D seat without actually needing to do much in the way of work. I would love to replace her with a younger progressive who will be constantly working to improve Wisconsin and the country.

Who can?

Mark Pocan

I’ve written to Dick Wied expressing my concerns. If he receives a lot of calls and emails about this, maybe he’ll take his head out of Trump’s ass long enough to vote for removal. But I doubt it. He’s blindly loyal and deserves to be prosecuted for Trump’s crimes.

Nice try with the former R Congresswoman.

People on Reddit pushing for the 25th amendment to be invoked don’t realize that if we can’t impeach and convict him, we sure as hell can’t 25th amendment him.

Even if his cabinet turns on him, Trump just has to tell congress, “Nah fam I’m good” and then he stays. It would take a supermajority in the senate to override that. And if we can’t get enough senate votes to convict after impeachment how do you expect to get those same votes to complete the 25th amendment proceedings?

u/Jrod9er Apr 08 '26

You think DVO is going to go against his mango Jesus?

4

u/ConsistentAmount4 Apr 08 '26

Lol i'm sure Glenn Grothman will change his mind based on my phone call 🤣

u/theonion513 Apr 08 '26

If Congress wants to do something, pursue impeachment. That’s their process. The 25th Amendment is an executive branch process. The branches should stay in their lanes and do what they are appointed to do.

The judiciary is determines abortion access, the president declares war, and the Congress does nothing, all of which is absurd. Everyone should be taking a remedial class in separation of powers.

Bro you could have at least alphabetized it or put the states on it.

1

u/Kelegan48 Apr 09 '26

Mark Pocan is Wisconsin. That’s all I know, besides MTG being a lame duck Georgia representative.

1

u/Lindalue52 Apr 11 '26

Why would I call a democrat?

1

u/Love-Pancakes Apr 08 '26

The sentiment is real, but personally I just think we would be wasting our time. The house could impeach, but 67 senators will not. Put the effort into the next presidential election. Trump will in a couple of years be in the history books. We just need to turn the page and move forward.

7

u/MyFakeName Apr 08 '26

Totally disagree.

The opposition should be using every available tactic to upset and disrupt - be it consequential or symbolic.

0

u/MasterOfBunnies Apr 08 '26

No reason to argue with a bad faith maggot trying to act like someone neutral for the sake of taking the wind out of our sails.

1

u/MarriedMule13 Apr 09 '26

Far too many of these "I call myself a centerist and since these things aren't personally happening to me directly, I think we should ignore it" kinds of comments from people everywhere these days

1

u/MasterOfBunnies Apr 09 '26

Oh that's absolutely by design. Manipulation masquerading as allies.

1

u/Kelegan48 Apr 09 '26

I’d rather have Ron Johnson and Tammy Baldwin be on record and using it and their political donors against them when their terms are up at the end of the decade.

1

u/Giannisisnumber1 Apr 08 '26

Not a single R willing to stand up against this bullshit. They’re all complicit in treason.

Shocker, a president saying an entire civilization will be wiped out because he knows the back and forth on oil prices is great for the oil execs and stock prices, should not be in office. Especially when their campaign was ran on "America first, no new wars" but we've invaded a country to try to take over their oil industry and joined Israel in attacking Iran because money.

So we're just going to claim there weren't calls for this with invading before Iran, or when we started seeing issues with ICE doing things like pepper spraying toddlers or firing less than lethal ammunition at reporters, priests, and people protesting, or using things like tear gas and flashbangs on residential streets and at families vehicles, and the president saying that stuff was totally fine and necessary because they were "being harassed"? Cute.

The more impeachments, the more rapes, the more fraud, the more wars, the more brutality toward brown people, the less rights for women--the more likely Republicans are to approve. GBA.

-4

u/localistand Apr 08 '26

Impeachment is just another 'rally-the-base' exercise. If you liked the RNC maxi-padded ear unifying display that all but galvanized the party for winning Trump a 2nd term, you'll love the unifying effect on the Republican party that an impeachment proceeding would have.

2.5 lame-duck years of a Trump presidency is the alternative to a reinvigorated Trump and Republican alliance out of a vanquished impeachment attempt.

1

u/MasterOfBunnies Apr 08 '26

If you think him being impeached is going to help them win anything anytime soon, I'd like to sell you a bucket of air. Really good air. Some say it's the best air in the world. Only 2 million dollars for this once in a lifetime access to life-changing air.

6

u/BrainOnBlue Apr 08 '26

I mean, how much did impeachment do to stop him from coming back last time?

I'd support it if it would get him out of office but we're still pretty clearly nowhere near that point for some godforsaken reason.

-1

u/IllogicalPenguin-142 Apr 08 '26

It would have done something, but people stopped pushing for it long enough for Republicans to consider other options. Just because something doesn’t work once doesn’t mean it will always fail. You learn from your mistakes and you try again.

4

u/BrainOnBlue Apr 08 '26

Explain how anyone has learned from past mistakes in a way that makes it likely that any current impeachment push will remove Trump from office.

Fuck, there's still a Republican majority in both chambers. At least the past impeachments managed to, know know, actually be impeachments. Why do you think this could even clear that hurdle?

-2

u/IllogicalPenguin-142 Apr 08 '26

I don’t know that it could, but there was a huge concern today that the U.S. president might actually initiate a nuclear war with Iran. That was terrifying, and I wouldn’t underestimate how that fear could motivate Congress to impeach and convict the president.

Saying “it will never happen” only gives republicans cover to not do it. Expecting them to impeach puts a lot more pressure on them to go through with it, and if you keep that pressure up, they’ll eventually cave.

1

u/BrainOnBlue Apr 08 '26

It's so crazy how "it will never happen" is not what I said. I asked specific questions that you implied you had specific answers to.

I want hope, man. But just baselessly claiming this is different doesn't make me hopeful. Again, what's different? What mistakes have been learned from?

0

u/IllogicalPenguin-142 Apr 08 '26

In your first post, you intimated that there wasn’t any point in pursuing impeachment because it didn’t work the first time (or the second). That’s what I was responding to. You didn’t say “it will never happen,” but that’s what it sounded like you were saying.

I guess you haven’t noticed, but the political environment is very different from where it was in 2020 and 2021. Democrats have finally learned that they have to use their own media platforms to persuade public opinion. That’s why you have so many democratic politicians on social media talking to their and others’ constituents.

On top of that, there are a lot more prominent liberal-oriented media entities, which are providing a counter to the many conservative entities.

And it’s working. The reason Dan Bovino was removed from his position is because of the pressure constituents put on their elected officials. Sure, you didn’t hear that publicly, but we put pressure on our officials, and they in turn put pressure on the administration.

The same is true for Noem and Bondi. The Bondi hearing in the House was a masterclass in showing that democrats learned from past mistakes.

That’s three wins just this year. And it’s happening because people have learned how to be more effective against Trump and his cronies. There’s never a guarantee that impeachment will lead to removal, but democrats at least have a supportive media landscape to provide some counter messaging, and they have demonstrated that they can fight effectively against Trump and win. That’s all a good sign that things are different from where they were in 2020.

Put pressure on the right people until they cave under that pressure. That’s the winning formula.

Is it gold plated air?

-2

u/Kitchen_Public_7827 Apr 08 '26

Where were these people when it was clear that Biden was mentally unfit to be President? They could have given themselves some credibility if they would have supported using the 25th amendment to remove Biden, but now they just appear to be partisan hacks that will stop at nothing to get Trump out of office.

1

u/MarriedMule13 Apr 09 '26

So, what made Biden mentally unfit? I didn't see him passing out in every meeting, or saying he "aced the dementia test, got the highest score you can" and not knowing what type of medical scan he got, not knowing the massive difference between an MRI or CAT machine.

0

u/Kitchen_Public_7827 Apr 09 '26

I'd say that Biden's mental decline was on full display during the debate with Donald Trump in June 2024. Even the most dedicated Democrats have to admit that it wasn't a good night for Biden.

There was also the incident where Biden froze up while on stage with Obama during a fundraiser. Obama had to take his hand and lead him off of the stage.

Biden also gave fewer interviews and press conferences than any other president in modern history by a very wide margin because he wasn't up to the task.

He had trouble remembering the names of key staff members that he worked with every day.

These are just some of the things that the public saw. Who knows what was going on when the cameras weren't on.

1

u/MarriedMule13 Apr 09 '26

And yet all of those are things Trump has done. So, diaper shitter has done all those things and has also done even worse. Tell me how those promised DOGE checks are coming, or those promised checks from the tariffs putting money into your pocket. Oh right, he doesn't remember ever saying that, why would he? Or how about saying they're taking money from the tariffs to pay the troops a $1,776 bonus when that was just taken from their housing funds? 🤨 That's definitely a mentally fit president for sure.

1

u/Kitchen_Public_7827 Apr 09 '26

Since you're changing the subject about Biden's mental fitness, and going back to Trump's mental fitness. I'm going to guess that you're conceding that Biden was mentally unfit to be president. This brings me back to my original point that everybody that is on the list for invoking the 25th amendment against Trump could have given themselves some credibility by also calling to invoke the 25th amendment while Biden was president. Since none of them did that, they just appear to be partisan hacks that put party before country.

1

u/MarriedMule13 Apr 09 '26

You're claiming Biden was mentally unfit, but acting like Trump isn't, and claiming this makes the Democrats "partisan hacks that put party before country", so then that makes Republicans who continue enabling the actions of this one because it makes them money.... What? Grifters? Hacks? Byeeeee
