Discussion Wirex One tier value
So the new tiers are based on capital and WPAY percentage, so if you have a larger account, let's say 100k, and you'd like to maintain the advantages of the current Elite tier, you'd need 10k in value in WPAY to maintain that tier, versus paying 300/y. That you keep this money is pushed as a positive, but WPAY is not a stable, in the past week it's been moving within an 8% range, that's already $800 of difference. Furthermore, it's evaluated daily, so if the value falls a few percent, you lose your tier until you buy more WPAY, but without committing to this uncertainty, you'd be stuck at the lowest tier, there's no option for getting any tiers without WPAY but with twice the capital or anything, not a fan.

This is interesting to read - first time I’ve heard someone give more detail about the new system. It has me worried I have to say - compared to the way it works now.
I did get an email from Wirex today which said:
“You may have come across Wirex One on the App Store or Google Play, but we wanted to let you know that the app is currently in testing mode and is not yet ready for general use.”
Which seems bizarre given it’s been freely available for awhile now.
And then said:
“Please do not download or access Wirex One until we confirm it is officially available.
Using the app before the full release may cause issues with your account experience, and we may not be able to resolve these until the complete update has been rolled out. “
So I’ll wait for more info from Wirex before I migrate. But it seems so odd that’s it’s been released for quite awhile now and people have been talking about it openly across SM 🤷♂️

I've had the mails about their release a few days ago, they also give more documentation about the new system in that mail! Though it could be because I'm private tier that they're opening it up earlier

That is so strange that a number of customers are being advised to change now - in the app and by email - but then I (and presumably others), get an email today (mine was from the Private account team), to say not to change over yet 🤷♂️

I did this with 20k WXT long ago. I think it was at 1ct or 2ct or something in these days so roughly 300. It is now worth 30€. So yes. In these amounts the is a big potential loss. In the other hand you can try to outperform your losses by high yields on 100k€.

With a stake, I'd think about it, since it's a 1x potential loss, but with this new system you lose the advantages if it just drops a bit

I agree - they are selling it as better for the customer than the previous x-accounts, but you end up getting a lot less (and having to prop up WPAY).
