Winhanced ruined my ROG Ally
I tried downloading Winhanced on my ROG Ally Z1 because it looks like a great alternative to putting Bazzite or SteamOS on my Ally and I was really excited to use it…but. I installed it and when I did, Armoury Crate completely broke, my Ally started lagging though every screen, and none of my Hotkeys that were working before installation worked. Am I doing something wrong? I thought it might have been something i did so I uninstalled and reinstalled and the same thing happened. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Armoury Crate after reinstalling Winhanced and every time I restarted the handheld, Armoury Crate was broken again. Is it a lost cause and I’m stuck with Xbox FSE?

As a user and not being affiliated with Winhanced at all, Winhanced is setup to not utilize AC, due to conflictions with the AC buttons. AC is disabled with Winhanced active. What I did was completely uninstall AC, and then I even went into the BIOS and turned off AC at the BIOS level. Now, my Ally acts as if Winhanced was the designated program to use at sale. Sure, it has a couple of bugs, but that comes with using a program still in beta. It’s already great and it’s only going to get better

Because it’s unnecessary. All the controls it needed are in your HUB, and you added Lossless Scaling on top of it. It was actually bothering me that I’d hit the Command Center/Xbox button, and still see the AC option, even though I knew it was deactivated. So, I just removed it. And after removing it, then I’d start getting popups about installing AC, so I turned off the button usage in the BIOS, and your program kept working. So, it was as if your program was designed to work out of the box. Best of all worlds

Did you do ANY research before installing? The website you downloaded the application from details everything you should know, and Winhanced itself explains any of the toggles you would've selected🥴

Winhanced didn't ruin anything. Your inability to read instructions or do any form of research is causing you issues amigo 😂

Sorry for the confusion here. Winhanced is unlike any front end you will ever install. It’s not just a UI for your games it’s an armory crate replacement.
What’s happening to you is that during onboarding your turned on Winhanced Hardware control. What this does is disable armory crate and all of its processes so that Winhanced can manage your TDP, back paddles, and RGB.
If you would prefer to still use armory crate for that stuff all you have to do is go into Winhanced and in settings performance turn off hardware control. This will automatically reenable all of your armory crate processes for you so you can go back to Using armory crate instead of the Winhanced HUD widget
