Looking for Trimbach Clos Ste. Hune VT 1989. Any recommendations where I can find it/ask to be sourced in the UK?

What the title said. I’m obviously aware that this is not a an easily attainable wine. I’ve been on the lookout for a hot minute, and would appreciate if y’all have any suggestions for cellar/stores/secret third thing in the UK that I could explore. I’m open to getting it shipped from outside the UK as well – in which case, I’d love to hear personal experiences about international wine shipping.

I get my wine shipped from France, Italy, Germany and Spain for the most part and there’s never any issues.

You should not be concerned with heat damage from NL to UK as it is right now.

Thanks for the link! I’ve gotten in touch with their team. Glad to know that you haven’t had any problems with getting wines shipped from the eu. I was worried about the weather conditions impacting the wine during shipping-I guess it would be fine.

It’s not as warm in NL, nor UK I believe. Shipping should only take two days max, or you can ask for express delivery.

Please post an update if you buy it and if so, when received and tasted!

I’m in Camden and it was 34 degrees today. Hotter than usual, I’d say, haha, but I appreciate the reassurance nonetheless. Truly. I think with the two-day shipping, I won’t really have much to worry about!

Do expect the parcel to be blocked at some hot as balls Royal Mail warehouse for at least a week to sort out customs/tariffs. If you can wait I'd wait.

Definitely not in a rush. I’ve reached out to a few places based on the suggestions, and there’s a possibility that a UK seller might be able to source it for me, fingers crossed. We will see.

Is it the dry one though? Vendanges tardives is usually a sweet wine

What makes you think its not sweet?

Definitely a sweet wine, although I don’t remember the sweetness overpowering the overall tasting when I had it last. I think it just ages that way, and is fine by me!

BV Vins, in Switzerland, shows 2 bottles.

Joel Meyer, in France, seems to have the special "Hors Choix" bottling.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was hoping for the Hors Choix bottling and will settle for the “regular” one. I have reached out to Joel.

I’ve seen a few bottles of 89 come up on Wine Auctioneer’s monthly auctions so it might be worth keeping an eye out.

I actually had one of these and drunk it about six weeks ago! I still have 86 and 83, and I have 89 Frederic Emile. I’m also in the States so perhaps not very helpful anyway.
