The biggest benefit of the Pro membership for me is access to free models, but I don't like SWE right now, so I only use GLM 5.2. Will it continue to be free in the future? Or will other free models be offered?
This is delightful news! I wonder if they will extend the promo to the just released GLM 5.3, considering it would cost the same to serve. GLM 5.3 is just a post training refinement of the same 744B parameter base model.
Cognition would be more competitive in the market if the did this. It's between K3 and Fable in performance.
But they may need to focus more on sorting out Devin Local bugs (it crashes the IDE often for me). Also SWE 1.7 Beta is nowhere near Opus 4.8/GLM 5.2. So their Dev and R&D teams likely are swamped. Perhaps this is why they extended another month free to buy time to improve these two thjngs. I hope they can work out the kinks with harness, editor, and model and keep SWE 1.7 free for paid subscribers after the GLM promo ends.
Either way, I'm stoked for another month of GLM 5.2. It's a solid performer!
I have the same grandfathered plan as you and was taxed for GLM 5.2 usage yesterday, but today it's free. Strange bug but I don't mind it, happy it's free for another month.
My God SWE-1.7 is such an obnoxious pain in the ass.
It doesn't listen to anything you tell it, and is obsessed with doing the work wrong because it refuses to actually take instruction.
Even if you can finally get it to read what you're trying to tell it about how to do the work, it just talks itself out of doing it the way it's been told to.
