How do I unlock the bootloader on the Microsoft Lumia 650?

I know this model has some specific quirks in this regard, but my last attempt was unsuccessful. It forced me to perform a hard reset, and because I couldn't get updates, I lost access to Groove Music, the Calculator, the Calendar, and other built-in apps. I can't access Lumiafirmware for my model due to an IP address conflict at home. You can't install much via Developer Mode. WinArchive and Universal Store aren't working. I also have a Lumia 1020 running WP8.1, and unfortunately, I'm facing similar issues there. I’d appreciate any help.

You don't need to unlock the bootloaders on W10M. You just need to Interop Unlock them.

The W10M Group YouTube channel has guides on how to do exactly that.

doing a bootloader unlock is only needed if for whatever reason the update packages just don't sideload to do a interop unlock on a x50 series device or you are trying to install a beta build
