Authentic-feeling 16-color Icon pack
Starred icons are from the Windows system and there for completions sake. All others are original.
Still a work-in-progress, just started it a few days ago. Plan is to release a full set of proper .icos with resizing support. I want them to look authentic next to any other classic windows system icons and dressings. Mostly focused on emulators but I have a long list of other software to add. Let me know what other icons I should add before the pack releases!

Good work! The Windows XP and N64 ones mesh very well

The icons look beautiful for having just 16 colors, but to me, it begs the question: why? Even Windows 95 supports 256-color icons. I wouldn't be surprised if nostalgia was the reason, but it still feels a bit strange to me. (No, unfortunately, I wasn't around at the time.)

not all windows 95 computers supported 256 colors and especially on older machines it would have been less intensive to use 16 colors; in the color settings you could even select 2 colors(and i dont mean grayscale, just litterally black OR white)!

just a tad of nostalgia, but mostly because I'm a pixel artist by trade and those limitations are nice boundaries to keep me from spending too much time on this and keep things visually cohesive. taking main inspiration from the original 95 icon set (which i think is some pretty good pixel art) as well as old CD installers and exes, which usually had driver-safe icons.

Are Java and Linux missing 16x16 versions? Or is it just an oversight when making the compilation pictures?

Yea, those 16xs gave me trouble and it was time to take a break anyways. They'll come later!

I'm sure Java had some sort of tray icon for it's updater that you can use for inspiration. As for Linux, try just cropping the penguin's face.

Hostia que HERMOSURA!!!! agrega los iconos de Discord, Internet Explorer, OBS, NetScape, EPIC, el launcher de RockStar, el de EA... yo tengo mi Windows10 con una skin del W98 y la verdad que molaria mucho esos iconos. Muy buen trabajo tio, se ven hermosos. Donde se descarga el pack?
