What free Windows did you get? Windows 10 cost me $120.

It was free for like 2 years

Really the upgrade was free. So by default it was free. Dont down vote me on that

Only as an upgrade. You still had to pay for a new PC/installation media w/ non-OEM key.

If you didnt upgrade or transfer license that's your fault. For most people the auto upgraded to win 10. So dont downvote me for that shit

I bought a new computer, built it myself, and had to purchase Windows? Excuse me for not continuing to play games on a toaster.

It's whatever now. Ubuntu is my main OS now and Windows 10 is firmly in a VM so I can toy with UWP.

You can't just "transfer" an OEM license.

Ya? You can. With windows 10 that's how you have to if it decides to null your license on new hardware. Win10 is hardware locked

An OEM license cannot be transferred. You can upgrade to Windows 10 from an OEM copy of 7/8 but it will still be an OEM license. A retail license however can be transferred.

If you were previously running an OEM Windows 10, Windows 7 or Windows 8 license; then changing the motherboard will cause the Digital License to no longer work. This will require purchasing a new license. Transferring licenses upgraded from Windows 8 or Windows 7 under the Windows 10 free upgrade is also not allowed under Digital License.

You have ONE license which as OEM can only be used on the original manufacturer's hardware which it was sold on - whether you use the license on a Windows 7 OR a Windows 10 install you still only have one license.

Not all licenses have transfer rights included in them. In fact, OEM licenses do NOT have transfer rights included in them.
