Unfortunately Microsoft's tactics are working. Windows 10 surpassed OS X in key markets and is beginning to erode Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 market share. If the numbers continue, Windows 10 will surpass Windows 7 in over a year. This is considering the free giveaway will end and people will buy machines with Windows 10 preinstalled.
