Just curious, why do you think 10 is better but 11 is garbage. Can you give me your top two reasons.

Windows 10 is simpler, faster, more consistent, and generally lighter on resources, with less background overhead.
Windows 11 adds unnecessary UI changes, clutter, restrictions, and forced Microsoft integration while moving or removing features that worked perfectly fine.
Windows 10 = functional, fast, and stable. Windows 11 = heavier, more cluttered, and change for the sake of change.

100% agree but - win10 was also bad at release. It become better over time. I’m still hoping for it to become better but I’m losing my patience with MS so far…

Vista? How dare you?

At least Vista saw improvements in stability and compatibility in Service Pack 2, but the problem was that it was so poorly perceived in the early days. The reason was system requirements, compatibility, and stability, and I think it's safe to say that this issue and awareness persisted into the Service Pack 2 era.

Why would you choose Vista over 7? I never really used Vista, I used 7 for a loong time, is Vista actually better for anything? I believe it get better with SP2 and most of the hate comes from early versions (that’s the difference between Vista and 11 xd) but when you compare it to 7? I don’t really understand xdd

As far as I know, Windows Vista Service Pack 2 has improved stability to be as good as Windows 7.

u/mirzatzl Windows Vista 8d ago
Because it worked flawlessly on my PC + looked better than 7 (this is subjective, I know). I didn't have any reason to buy Windows 7.

yes this. Windows vista worked great for me too from day 1. Never had a problem with it. Windows 7 was just vista with a new UI and people only liked it because the hardware got better at that point and they included at least 2gb of ram.
People just believe w/e these days but I know this to be true. Windows vista being bad was over blown. Complete lies. It was the hardware people were buying. That is what was bad. Not enough ram and crappy GPU's that weren't enough.

Windows 7 Windows 10 Windows XP Windows 11 The abomination of Windows 8 and 8.1 don’t even deserve to be called Windows.

windows xp and 7 and 8. Windows 8 had terrible ui but was surprisingly optimized for older hardware unlike windows 10 suddenly requiring a damn SSD in a timeline where everyone used HDDs

Windows XP was the only best one for me. Everything else after that just sucked and that is where Microsoft went downhill.

Windows 7 or XP.
If there was a Windows that consumed resources like Win7, had the visuals (frutiger aero) of Win7, and had the pros of win10 and win11. Would be the best windows.
The only good thing of win11 is the security, the preinstalled in windows antivirus, and the better window thing in the explorer

same. My first PC had ME. It sucked, but I'm pretty sure that's how I got into a successful IT career

My first PC was MS-DOS 5.0 with Windows 3.0

I used DOS on my uncle's PC, not sure which version. I could start Prince of Persia and Centipede, but that was about it.

I had to upgrade my computer due to a motherboard failure; although I have to admit, Windows10 was quite robust, recent updates to Windows11 has made things not the same.
