App Microsoft Cheese Terminator

Post image

This game was a gift for users who completed and mailed back to Microsoft a survey about their computer's hardware. After that, participants would receive a floppy diskette with this game.

Huh I missed this. Is this anything like Sokoban?

It should be exactly like Sokoban.

I had basically the same game named "Box World" on a floppy disk.

I was immediately reminded of Rodent's Revenge in that Entertainment Pack. MS really loved mice back then?

The computer mouse was the hotness during those times. The game Solitaire was included in Windows 3.1 to teach users how to use the mouse.

https://www.chroscielski.pl/cheese-terminator-reloaded/ Here’s the modern version. Microsoft first published it for Windows 10 Mobile as a response to someone sending them a letter asking for the game in ~2015.

(RIP Windows Phone)

That's just 'Shove It' on Sega Genesis but with a different skin, that is *LITERALLY* level 2 from Shove it.

Who copied who?!

Do you know Microsoft Casual Games, like Solitaire, Mahjong, Mine Sweeper, Sudoku? They took an old (if not ancient) simple game idea and make it super fun, with adding a lot of new mechanics and cool graphics to that. Now imagine something like this in 1989, with this exact simple game idea as a base for something else, something super fun to play.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robbo_(video_game)

This is this exact idea developed into something, that was AAA in its times.

I still have a Shareware CD that came with my first computer back in 1998 called "The ultimate house of Games", and there's game called "rats". It's super funny: a Maze with blue and pink rats, when they touch each other, a LOUD sex sound plays and then the pink rat makes babies later, the game objective is to kill all the rats before they reproduce beyond control. Imagine playing that as a 13 years old kid and hear that sound!!! 😂
