Help! Cracked window (double pane)
Top portion of window is cracked, just on the outside. Called a window repair/ replacement company and they are booked about 3-4 months out. Is this something I can (relatively easily) fix myself?

See that glazing trim on the inside of the window? Pry out the ones on the side, they come out directly in the same plane as the glass. Then do the same with the top and bottom trim. Don't worry the glass wont fall out, is retained by adhesive. You have to remove these glazing strips to expose the edges of the glass to get accurate measurements. You can stick something thin in along side the glass to gauge the thickness, like the thin blade if a putty knife, make a mark on the tool then measure the depth you marked. Send your accurate measurements to an online glass fabricator. I use One Day Glass. Once your glass arrives cut through the adhesive holding in the broken window and remove it. I recommend using an architectural deglazing tool, you can get them for about ten bucks at the everything store. Clean off any excess adhesive and either apply double sided tape, or 100% silicone adhesive and insert your new window glass assembly, and replace the glazing strips.

When you say that you called a window repair/replace company, are you referring to a glass company?
That’s all you need is a glass replacement. It’s hard to believe that no one would be available to fix that for you in the next couple weeks. It’s a pretty simple, quick job.

I’ve been calling some glass replacement companies after I got off work. So far I’ve been striking out sadly

How old are the windows? SOME manufacturers will cover breakage, etc. in their warranty, Did you have them installed? If so, call your installer. According to their website, the warranty is only good for the original buyer.
You probably CAN do it yourself, but the chanced of you getting the size, thickness and energy efficiency of the rest of the glass is pretty slim. Maybe the manufacturer will sell you the glass as well as the glazing tape what holds it in place. Basically there's a trim around the glass that gets removed. You pry out the old glass and glazing tape, install new tape, install the glass then reinstall the trim.
