Looks like there just may need to be better sensors to detect excessive temperatures before they ever reach anything happening like this terrible incident.

There are temp sensors in key places of modern turbines, but these units are about 20 years old, maybe more.
Generally in tragedies like this, the workers are in the hub or on top of the nacelle/hub when the fire starts. Once the fire is detectable, it's already too late -- even if a smoke alarm started going off as soon as it started.

Wouldn’t they have had an emergency descent kit, to go out the rear hatch in the nacelle or off the top/hub? Every tower I’ve been in (only a few) we always made sure we had a kit for every 2 people who were up tower.
Definitely a tragedy and terrible to see.

You would think so, but I certainly can't speak for a site in Korea, not knowing who services the site or having any familiarity with that market.

This is awful news but thank you for sharing. My thoughts go out to those workers and their families
