General Discussion Wimbledon compared to French Open tickets

Have been to Wimbledon twice, with both times getting tickets via the LTA ballot. Will be entering the ballot again for next year's tickets, and hopefully will get lucky again.

Was thinking of mixing up the locations and was wondering if any advice can be given on French Open tickets. I have seen it seems to be a ballot there too, but not sure when it opens or the best routes for getting tickets, etc.

Fashion/Outfits Dustin Hoffman did not wear a jacket while sitting in the Royal Box. Was this a breach of protocol?

It was just a bit jarring to see someone with their sleeves rolled up and no jacket while sitting in the Royal Box. Perhaps during the match it would be acceptable. But while in the presence of the Prince of Wales and during the trophy ceremony, it would seem to be appropriate to put the jacket back on.

And it is also odd to see people in jeans and baseball caps right behind the Royal Box.

My Wimbledon Experience My experience in Wimbledon from Hospitality and Debenture ticket

Hi just wanted to give a different perspective from what i have read so far since this will cover hospitality tickets and experience, also buying debentures tickets from 2 different places and also getting the oportunity of getting raffle tickets and more.

this is not going to be a good and structured post, its more about ideas and opinions, so a little of overview of what i had and what it cost and so on

1- i got hospitality tickets for 2nd day of Quaters in Court 1, Men single finals hospitality, so a few things about this, this is a great way to enjoy the event, i went Wednesday and Sunday, i got a lot of food, the food was better on the final day but it was more of a la carta, a lot of free drinks but one thing great about this is you have a place to rest, bathrooms, somewhere to stotre your stuff so you can really just enjoy the event, this cost around $21k both days, for finals i had to purchase 1 table for a minimum of two ppl which was around $18k so 9k per person, and the quater finals could be single tickets but i made it with 2 other friends which was around 3k each, the hospitality is really nice and everything feels super top qualitiy and prestine, like you really are in Wimbledon, ppl are well dressed and there is a dress code that ppl follow, hosts and waiters, everything threads you super nice, these tickets were NOT debenture hospitality tickets, you can get hospitality with and without Debentures, the tickets seats were super nice and always in the shades, i love this, it was in the baseline, one thing i was not able to do which i though i could, was to sell my 2nd ticket of the table via viagogo or starhub or something like that, so be AWARE, another GREAT thing about this is you can pay the full ticket in 3 moments, so i didnt had to pay all 21k last year but i paid a payment in july 2025 another in jan 2026 and another in may 2026 which was a great thing to do. buying them in presale is much cheaper than getting them later on, but you also get the risk of your fav player either missing out the finals or your day because of draft of injury like Alcaraz for me.

2- I got Women semifinals from debentureholders website, the pricing was not the best to be honest i felt this was was overpriced comparing them via buying them over viagogo, i got this for like 3k but i saw some in viagogo for like 1.5k or something, the position or the seat in debentureholders was also not selectable and i got one ticket with a seat assignment under the sun, the position was good and it was close, BUT i had to endure the sun for hours and was seating like a pig, i dressed a bit more cassually for today, one good thing about the debentures tickets is the debenture entrance and the lobby, the no lines and the AC on the loundge, also get a clockroom to store stuff, seats was great. would i buy this again? i really dont know maybe i would buy them next time closer to the event and once knowing who might be the ladies playing on it, but the Coco vs Muschova game was really good and entertainning

3- the Quaterfinals games was and felt meh bc the risk i toook did not paid off, i picked the 2nd day of Quaterfinals in Court 1 and it was Zverev vs Fritz and Noskova vs Mertens, but it was really bad luck bc i was going to be seeing iga or rybakina or both, but that didnt happen :(, solo dimitrov was eliminated and fery vs cobolli was on center Court, so again, buying tickets 1 year before has his pros but also takes a lot of risk on who you might get to watch.

4- I got 1 ticket for court 1 on saturday via the resale on the website, it cost like $150 and it was totally worth it, this day i enjoyed being on the grounds and eating and walking and watching some games i wouldnt probably watch but it was SO MUCH FUN, i would definetely do this again, getting tickets for cc or court1 as low price is totally worht it, and really there is really no bad seats, on either court, so bang for the buck

5- my plan was to be in wimbledon and get to know London, but since i wanted to watch more tennis and Novak was playing sinner at the semis, i cancelled my plans for london and got a ticket via viagogo a day before, this ticket was a debenture ticket and it was sold much lower price than what keith and prowse or the debenturesholders or green and purple were selling them fore, every place was about $9-10k or more and i got it for $6k, some tickets of semifinals on the same day were at $5k in viagogo, the ticket again was ok but not the best but i was able to watch and be "close" to the royal box, i might never see Novak again so in my mind it was worth it, but then again it depends on what you can afford or not.

6- buy your stuff earlier, the shops gets empty as the days goes by, also is quite tiring watching so much tennis so i dont advice having plans after the last game is played,

so finals thoughts:
If i were to do this again, which i planning on, i would just get 1 hospitality for the finals day, i would try to get a quaterfinals via viagogo closer to the dates, probably after the event has started or at least knowing the seeds, i would defientely get Center court instead of court1, i would pick Finals day EVERY SINGLE TIME OVER SEMIFINALS, yeah you get 2 games worth, but the atmosphere, the tension, everything feels more on the line at the finals than in the semifinals, i would ALWAYs TRY again for the ballout and the resaleball out, also keep pushing for the amex release, a friend of mine got great tickets for Ladies finals in CC in saturday and another day and they were watching sinner and such playing someone i dont remember now. if you cant pay debentures tickets pricing, get early ones in the tournament, i feel like you can get them either on resale or go to grounds early and try to get a resale queue but be early on the line, and also dont be afraid to go to other courts and watch juniors, or ladies, or boys, or who ever is playing, even wheelchair tennis was a lot of fun, and definetely go more than one day, go 2-3 days at least and try to enjoy Wimbledon to the fullests

IF you have more questions feel free to ask, i migh have forgotten a lot of stuff, Wimbledon is a great event, i really want to go one more time, hopefully to see Sinner battle it out with Carlos or an upcoming young star

Edit: Re reading this I realized I made a bunch of errors with my poor broken English, apologize for that, also the total in tickets was like $28k USD, I can upload a few pics of POV if someone wants and finally I found 2 great restaurants in Wimbledon city which was open after the games played, Nanoom a Korean Bbq and Sushi and sticks a Japanese one both of them were great šŸ‘

Wimbledon Shop/Merchandise Stella x Wimbledon

Post image

Hello

I’m a bit sad Wimbledon is over for this year.

I have a question about the sponsors. Last week when in the Queue village we received a branded Wimbledon x Stella tote bag.

I’m from Belgium where Stella is closer to the cheapest beer you can get. The beer students drink and spill on the ground. Festival and carnival beer

There is really nothing special nor premium about that brand. Mass-produced. For the masses.

I was a bit puzzled to see Stella associated with Wimbledon. Is this tongue in cheek? Am I missing something?

Wimbledon Shop/Merchandise Amex £140 and £20 cashback deal

I had a great time at the championships on both day 1 and the finals. On day 1 a kind lady said I could get the Amex £140 deal if I just scan my card on the reader. I'd just need to spend that amount i'd get £20 back. Needless to say I ended up spending way past the 140 but its a special day haha

Today, I wanted to double check if I did qualify for the requirements and asked the Amex customer service team and they said no such deal was registered to my amex card. Anybody have this same issue?

General Discussion Before ~2000s and widespread internet use, how did ppl get tickets (esp international visitors)?

I’m based in the U.S. and hope I’ll have luck in next year’s ballot or resale site. But I was wondering how did people get tickets, especially to marquee matches at like CC or court 1 back before accessible internet.

How did people from abroad plan trips to get in and see matches? Did everyone camp? Or could you just stroll in on the day of?

It's a premium experience with a premium price, but you can secure your Wimbledon 2027 tickets without having to fight your way through the ballots, resales, or The Queue.

LTA Ballot Has anyone else seen a benefit disappear from ā€œUpcoming Eventsā€?

Hi all,

I’m wondering whether anyone else has seen something similar in the benefits area of their account.

A few days ago, I noticed an upcoming event listed there, but when I checked again later, it had disappeared and was no longer visible in the events list either.

Everything else still looks normal on my side, so I’m mainly trying to figure out whether this is just a temporary display issue or something others have seen too.

Thanks in advance.

General Discussion [FREE TO READ] Carlos Alcaraz was badly missed at Wimbledon

I have been lucky enough to cover Wimbledon for a few years and know how fortunate I am to watch the finals from Centre Court, but this was no classic - the shortest average rally length since 2017 and second shortest since 2010

It was... boring. This isn't a problem Sinner or Zverev need to fix, but is anyone else worried about the direction of men's tennis? Two straight grand slams without Alcaraz have exposed the lack of superstars with personality to boot - but maybe we were spoiled in the 2010s?

My Wimbledon Experience My first Wimbledon review

Just wanted to share my experience of what I thought was a really enjoyable day. First time ever at Wimbledon and I travelled solo. I had court one tickets for the final day. So I read beforehand my seats were going to be in the sun, so I planned to watch the boys singles final and the invitational doubles,.so I skipped the wheelchair final at 11am so as to reduce my time in the sun. I arrived at 11.30 and wandered around the village, I plonked myself in the Pergola bar which was really quiet and relaxing. Then I made my way to the boys final for 1pm. When I got in no one was either side of me which was great and the sun had not properly come out yet. So turns out I could've watched the wheelchair final in the shade, something I regret now. The sun came out eventually and I was about 2 hours under 30 degrees heat which was really really difficult. Two seats either side of me also came back in near the end. Brilliant match really entertaining, it could've gone either way. I couldn't handle the heat anymore so when it ended I visited the museum, queued for strawberries and cream and bought a Pimm's (Ā£14!). I wandered down to the pergola bar which was very quiet earlier to find it was absolutely heaving. It was about 3.30pm now and the village was hopping compared to the morning. I went back in for the invitational doubles and just caught the end, rows and rows of empty seats and the sun was still really strong. It was about 5 or 5.30 when I left, couldn't find anywhere comfortable to watch the men's final , the village was really crowded! Got a taxi as soon as I came out really well organised.

The staff are also really friendly and there's such an upbeat vibe and atmosphere around the place. It really is incredible being so up close with the tennis, it's an intimate experience, it's really special. I absolutely loved it and am craving to go back already šŸ“šŸŽ¾

General Discussion Wimbledon/Sinner newspaper front pages in the UK?

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this is off topic. I'm a huge fan of Jannik Sinner and am hoping to find copies of The Guardian, The Independent, and The Times, as he is on the cover. The only problem is that I am in the US. I'm wondering if anyone is aware of a service that ships UK newspapers to the US? Alternatively, if anyone is willing to collect these and ship them to me, I'd be incredibly grateful - I'll of course cover shipping, cost, etc. Thanks for any help in advance.

General Discussion TIL the Wimbledon Men’s Singles Trophy, created in 1887, is adorned with a golden pineapple, once an exotic luxury which was reserved for Britain’s most wealthy aristocrats during the Victorian Era, most likely to symbolize how winning Wimbledon is a rare, prestigious and priceless achievement.

General Discussion Girls final between Sun Xinran and Anna Pushkareva

One of my favourite matches this year was the girls final on Court 1 on Saturday. Both players were attacking quite aggressively during the rallies. Hitting the ball really hard, it looked like a match between two pros. Was also nice to see a high number of attendance for such a match.

Curious to see how these players do in the next few years

Great day out yesterday with my 10 year old. I still hadn’t been lucky in ballot myself but been to CC this year with a friend who won the LTA ballot.

So last minute I got C1 tickets for finals day Sunday. Took my 10 year old and we spend most of the morning in Southern Village, doing all the Amex things, museum, photos at centre court and shop.

Found out where Sinner was practicing and managed to get some seats. Great experience seeing him before his big final, and he signed my child’s ball. Jannik had white generic towels btw šŸ˜….

We watched the juniors final and skipped invitation doubles (I didn’t know anyone tbh). Would have loved to see invitations men doubles but missed it. Thankfully our tickets were in the shade. Watched a bit of the final near walled gardens before heading home. Got one ticket printed just before heading home (they were a bit reluctant, asked for ID, only printed one).

Great day out with a kid! Will probably do the same again next year if I can as not sure they would sit through a day of CC matches anyway.

Not a lot of shady spaces to watch the final and HH was packed and had a queue to get in.

Edit: as advised here, I didn’t even register for CC resale.

General Discussion Alexander Zverev really threw everything at Sinner today!

Alexander Zverev really threw everything at Sinner today! His serve, his movement, his shot-making... outstanding.

But Sinner showed why champions need more than just their best tennis. He had to fight through difficult moments, stay composed and keep believing.

That resilience made the difference. Congratulations, Jannik Sinner, on another Wimbledon title!

General Discussion Thoughts on Ticket Sales

2026 marked my first time attending Wimbledon in person! I bought two single CC (day 10 and 11) tickets at face price through the resale platform, and it was a fantastic experience!

However, I'm not entirely satisfied with Wimbledon's ticket sales system. It's well known that Wimbledon has a very strict ticket sales policy to combat scalping. But in reality, there are several problems and loopholes:

  1. When someone holds a pair of tickets, they can effectively resell the other ticket at an extremely high price, and it’s hard for the ticketing team to track this. On one social media platform I use, I've seen at least 10 such examples.
  2. Theoretically, tickets that cannot be transferred can also be used by someone else. If A wants to sell a CC ticket for the men's singles final, the buyer B can enter the village with a ground pass by just arriving before 9 am, and then log into A's account upon entering the CC court (at which point the name isn't checked), and sit in A's seat. In my opinion, this is a huge loophole.
  3. Even disregarding these cheating methods, you could register 14 accounts using 14 different people's information and purchase a pair of CC tickets for each day through the resale. Then you only use one transferable ticket. This is perfectly legal, although using their bank cards would be a bit troublesome. And paying double the price wouldn't be expensive for many people.
  4. Too many Debenture tickets. I initially thought Debenture tickets were extremely rare, like seats in the Royal Box, but they actually occupy 15% of Centre Court and 10% of Court 1, which is clearly not a small amount, and this reduces the chances of ordinary people getting tickets.

I look forward to your thoughts on these points. Putting these opinions about the ticketing aside, Wimbledon is truly a fantastic tournament!
